To make this explicit, the law is what Trump and his merry band of miscreants say it is, unless we're willing to step up as a country and say 'No it isn't' and back those words up with action, if needed. All the words in the Constitution are is ink on a piece of paper, unless we're willing to stand and fight for them.

Why might a Russian national flee to the US and say she doesn't want to go back to Russia? Political oppression, as she says in her own words? Maybe, just maybe, this Russian woman is a good guy (gal), and Putin wants her back to make an example out of her as to what happens when you're a good guy in Putin's Russia...

In the 1930s and 1940s, the previous followers of this blighted ideology made 5 million+ people die in horrifying ways. I'm not keen on finding out how many this current batch of assholes is willing to kill. You try to abduct me or someone I care about, you get a face full of pepper spray, at a minimum. And I'm sure not going to look down on an immigrant or minority shooting down a masked secret police officer or 5. Maybe if they have to put their bodies on the line, the assholes will be less keen on trying to abduct people.

There are also other ways you can resist a Fascist. I have a can of pepper gel I keep on me at all times. I advise everyone who is here on a Student Visa or similar circumstance to start carrying, whether it be mace or a firearm. But keep in mind the firearm salesman notes above. They are good ones.

It really depends on what the purpose of voter ID is.

If it's to ensure that everyone that is entitled to vote votes once and only once, you'll see some key properties. It'll be free and easy to get. Applying for it is as simple as applying to vote (which itself will be easy to do), and it'll be virtually automatic that you get it. In many cases, it'll arrive unannounced as the Government already knows everything it needs to get you this card, and you won't have to do anything but show up at the polls election day with the card they gave you.

If it's to ensure that only 'desirable' voters can vote, it'll have other key properties. Getting it will be as easy as the above if you're the preferred class. But if you're the undesirable class of voter, getting it will have more hassles than its worth. It'll cost money. It'll have onerous requirements. It'll take you lots of time, and require transportation. It'll be designed to discourage you from voting. Because that's the goal. Onerous enough that you give up and let your betters rule you like God intended.

Can you guess what the United States' goal with voter ID is? Here's a hint. We have a long history of treating certain groups of people like crap, and despite 1865's end of the Civil War, there are STILL people who would rather see Black people in chains and treated like animals.

When you hold people accountable in the General instead of the Primary, you enable the Fascist takeover of the US. The only question at this point is whether this action was taken from stupidity or complicity.

Salida is located in Chaffee County which went Harris by about +14%. Palisade is located in Mesa County, which went Trump +25%, and is Tina Peter's little fiefdom (or was before she got locked up). Breckenridge is located in Summit County, which went Harris by +38%. Stranahan's is located right up the way from me in Denver County, which went Harris by over +56%. Can you guys come get us?! 🤣 Buena Vista is also in Chaffee County. Basalt is located between Eagle and Pitkin Counties, which went for Harris at +25% or more.

If you absolutely must buy American, I think all of the ones on the list from Colorado save for Peach Street are good ones to buy, but you might also want to try to dig into their disclosures.

All the numbers I've seen say EV sales are increasing. Newsweek reported that despite increasing year over year sales numbers for EVs, Telsa is experiencing reduced yoy sales figures. Some examples:

• Europe in general saw a 34% YoY increase in EV sales, but a 45% decrease for Tesla.
• Germany reported a staggering 76% decline in that year.
• Spain saw similar declines.
• China saw a 49% decrease YoY for Tesla, and a staggering 161% increase for local company BYD. While some of this wasdue to a production shutdown for Tesla in Shanghai, still, EVs are booming in China but Tesla isn't.

Newsweek claimed that there was a downturn in EVs in Australia, but instead of telling us 'sales of EVs dipped x% YoY', they go with a more crappier message that EVs represented a smaller proportion of cars this year compared to last year, which is of course useless without knowing how many cars overall were sold.

This is the key right here. Do more with less. Keep that phone a year or two longer. Don't spend money into the pockets of the billionaires lining up for Trump's new fascist country. A 7 day boycott can show you you CAN go longer than a day without buying from Amazon. And if you can stay away for a week from them, maybe you can do without the unnecessary stuff they're throwing down your throat.

The first day is the hardest. You NEED that thing that Amazon has made easy for you to get with just a click from your couch. You drag yourself off the couch grumbling and get on the bus/on the bike/in your car (if you have to) and go out and buy something just as good (if not better), from the local store. You repeat this a few times. By day 7, you realise...you can buy the stuff locally, not supporting a knee-bending billionaire, and the world hasn't ended. Even if you still buy things you just can't find from Amazon after the 7 day boycott, you find many things you can buy locally without funding Nazis. Your total sales goes down, and you're more inclined to shut down Amazon Prime. Eventually, you are only using Amazon as a last resort.

And that's how you go from a 7 day boycott to changing your life. ;)

Reddit and Lemmy (almost typed Reddy and Lemmit!) are their own versions of awful. Me and the mods over at the politics community have beef because they're QUICK to squash posts from us calling people out for being shitty anybody-but-Harris 'lefties' and abject alt-right trolls, but they leave that shit up WAY too long despite it being clearly against the rules. But at least I can call 'em out on their bullshit. Reddit, they'll ban you then ghost you. That's the world over there. Pick your poison.
