  • I built this web page because the range estimator in the F150 Lightning is dog shit. I keep adding little features here and there. Really would help any EV specifically Teslas since we know their range estimate is terrible too, but I drive a Lightning so it’s biased towards it. I have one more feature I intend to add then I’m going to start learning how to turn it into mobile apps.

  • They really need to. The F150 Lightning, R1T, and Cybertruck are proving that this segment can successfully electrify. Telo has some great plans for shrinking trucks back down but still being able to be trucks, I’m most excited by their plans. I think Ford’s T3 platform might do the similar, but time will tell.

  • If it’s tomato heavy, add sugar, neutralizes the acids a bit and makes it easier if you suffer heartburn.

When I grill burgers I mix in an egg and breadcrumbs. The egg seals in the juices and the breadcrumbs stabilize it. Garlic salt and Lowry’s seasoned salt mixed in as well.

In fact garlic salt and Lowry’s finds their way into most meals in the house. Great combo for almost any meat and most veggies.

  • Canned chicken is a go to, but also whenever I go to Costco in the weekend I get a roasted chicken and debone it for the same purposes.

Rice + microwave frozen stir fry veggies + teriyaki sauce is a halfway decent and quick lunch.

  • I think New Mexico is where it’s at for low/no snow and affordable housing. Not coastal vibes at all, but neither is it anywhere close to Texas feeling. They just kind of have their own thing. Almost anywhere on the I-25 between Albuquerque and Las Cruces might suit your desire.

  • Rainbows is happening downtown next weekend. The art museum is pretty good IMO, so is the musical instrument museum. If you’re able to eat at ChinoBandido get yourself some Chinese Mexican food, highly recommend the Jade red chicken, Machaca in a quesadilla, and some pork fried rice. Take a hike, Piestewa peak is mid difficult, camelback echo canyon is pretty tough. Mill Ave for college night life. Medieval times for a fun dinner theater. Tempe beach park is a nice stroll or biking area.

Have fun in the self driving cabs, get the Waymo app while you’re here. They only work in central Phoenix.

  • The problem is you have comp sci majors who learned .Net or Java handed react, so they do their damndest to turn react into .Net or Java.

I have seen many travesties committed in react and angular from people trying to turn them into what they know instead of letting them be good at what they are.

  • To add to the other answer, good agriculture as well. They can handle feeding themselves just fine. But they’d have to take AZ with them as well or else be able to negotiate like hell else SoCal won’t get any more water from the Colorado. AZ would not join CA willingly.

  • The NHSTA requires a backup cam, which requires a screen. Since the screen is there they might as well make it something they can upcharge for.

I do wish they’d keep it small, nothing more than a fancy stereo. But instead it’s cheaper to bake more and more features into it instead of dedicated knobs and buttons. And it becomes a vector for subscriptions.

All of this is to say that no one asked for it, but it makes more business sense when you know that the screen is required for the backup camera.

  • Kind of doesn’t matter since it’s been since before phones were smart. But as a hiring manager it’s going to depend on the position you’re applying for.

Mostly backend: need to have a load testable API with session management and security. Avoid using an ORM so you can display your master of SQL. Mostly front end: solid and stable client the exemplifies everything you know, cookie management, CSRF protection, rebuilt in multiple frameworks to show that you can work with the big ones. Mobile? Same thing. Balanced? Well you already built all the features so you should be fine.

Good luck, the market is pretty rough for now, but it will get better eventually.

  • CD is the best answer IMO. I get why people like vinyl, but what they refer to as “warm tone” I hear as just static noise and pops. It’s a hell of a lot harder to rip tracks from vinyl to digital versions. Cassettes were always terrible, but they were portable. CDs sucked in cars or worse yet workouts, but being able to easily convert them to MP3 solves that nicely. CD is the best long term source storage, and like you said rerip them if your digital files get screwed up in some way.
