  • Our work slack communications become increasingly meme-driven on a Friday. It's a little reminder that my little work team is nice and I am very lucky.

    And we haven't done a good things thread for a while - anyone else got one to help with the grey day?

  • Just had a friend and her little cat visit so the cat can suss out the place because I am gonna cat sit her for a month. 😻 And little kitty was very chilled out and at home so I think it's all gonna be ok. Yay! Cat aunt time coming up

  • I am slowly working my way through the Discworld books using my Spotify audiobook hours. About halfway through the new(ish) penguin audio versions and I am starting to get the hype. My eyes get sore after a day on the computer and it's a nice way to drift off.

    Blanket burrito yourself, STAT. Close eyes. What are all the noises you hear? What's the furtherest away noise? Listen. As you calm notice warmth and texture. If you can get down another notch notice breath. Can you listen, feel, breathe all together?

    And the ball is legit but you have amazing strength. Reach out if you need anything practical (food, transport, etc) to get through.

  • Sticky is probably not the right word, I find non oat porridges all a bit grainy in texture unless I do a quick blitz with the stick blender. Unfortunately oats are not for me anymore

  • Yeah I like buckwheat porridge. Just wanted to branch out a bit this winter

  • My ongoing quest to create an edible/satisfying gluten (oat) free porridge continues. The current mix uses polenta+chia for the stickiness, rice flakes+millet for texture and coconut+ground up almond for yums. It's ok but the millet takes way too much soaking and cooking to get soft. I might try to source some aramath instead.

    I found a pretty good store bought one but it's not cheap so I'm using their ingredients as a starting point for my experiments. The polenta was a good addition.
