  • It would be incumbent on the insurance company to prove that you willfully circumvented the system. Given an accident serious enough, the Tesla's computer could be physically damaged to the point where no data could be retrieved.

  • I am as well. I've settled on Arch Linux because it checks off all of my needs in a distro and even works very well with Steam and Proton for gaming. The one thing I am kind of on the fence about is pacman. It leaves a lot to be desired. But, the only way I am going to get exactly what I need is to do something like Linux From Scratch, and while interesting, the amount of time I would need to spend maintaining it is impractical for me right now.

  • Nice!!!! That should piss off that petty tyrant old Musky.

  • He cannot even manage to pay the rent due on the office space. Hardly a shocker that he's having trouble paying the revenue-sharing bills as well.

  • There should be a legal requirement to make documentation available for all unsupported Chromebooks to unlock the boot loader and allow for installing an alternative OS. Furthermore, they should be required to release engineering docs.

  • The fediverse takes the corporate out of social media!

  • I bought the printer when I was living in a place where the nearest library was 10 miles away and I only had access to a bus. I couldn't afford a car.

  • JFC! HP sucks. Just buy a Brother laser printer used and never worry about it because it's bulletproof and a workhorse.

  • The fediverse and the surge in open source has made the internet fun again. I haven't had this much fun with the internet since the mid to late 90s.

  • Only time I could ever sleep on a plane was after a business trip were I worked 18 hours days for almost 2 weeks. I was so tired I fell asleep right after boarding and buckling in. Not even takeoff and landing woke me up. Flight attendant shook me awake. LOL

  • Yup! Amazon is gettin' fucking greedier by the day. Good on you for denying Amazon their cut!

  • I've got mad respect for SUSE. They've always played fair with open source. But I found Arch to be ideal for gaming. I may get down voted but Arch plays all my Steam games excellently. Granted I haven't tried openSUSE out for that kind of thing. My last two remaining client from my business, a doctor and an attorney, I have using openSUSE on their laptops and desktops. They use SUSE Linux Enterprise on the server. It's fucking bulletproof. The Maytag of Linux. I'm thinking about killing my free Alma Linux Oracle VM and putting SLES or openSUSE in its place. I like the direction SUSE is headed.

  • The thing I like Amazon for is finding the vendor and then trying to buy direct from them. Often I've not been able to do that though. But I don't buy anything brand new from Amazon. I buy refurb electronics to keep them out of a landfill. Built myself some decent computers too.

  • You could try checking out Wish, Craigslist, or Ali Express. I've used all three to scrounge for parts to build a server for myself

  • I am not really shocked because the only way to really beat Reddit is by leaving the platform completely as in what many did when Melon Husk took over Twitter. Mass exodus. Express displeasure by voting with your feet and GTFO.
