For me the filtering works just fine, but you can also just go to the user profile and select "block", that would be the official lemmy function. You might need to scroll a bit to the right in the user toolbar on the profile.
I've definitely commented more since the launch of sync than in the whole month before. But it's not just that, also the quality of content here has improved over time, and it coincided with the launch that there was seemingly more to talk about.
Nah they do a good job. They are having intrusive popups asking you to subscribe to their paid tier for scheduled searches and real time protection, but if you know what you want/need, the free version is alright.
I believe any features that can be achieved using the regular Lemmy api will be implemented for all users regardless of their tier.
Ultra features require third party apis/services (such as the text from image extraction that needs google's api, cloud backup, user tagging) where external cost occur.
Nova launcher, custom made icons in purely B/W to match my background image. Some are entirely self made, some come from various online sources, some are AI generated and manually retouched.
Opening the folders on the home screen shows the app icons in color, otherwise transparent overlay would be a messy mix of lines.
(example with opened "security" folder)
Single screen homepage, no widgets. I hate animations and scrolling.
Maybe the problem is on your computer's end. Have you tried updating adb drivers and device-specific drivers (if any)? I've run into some issues with old adb drivers being present on the computer I was connecting to, even if the connection shouldn't have been going through adb in the first place. But some identifier was acting up and causing misidentification of the device.
I'd be happy to help. Sync user for >12 years, former moderator (reddit) for several communities with >1M users, active on the sync discord, lifetime ultra subscriber, github bug hunter.
Currently traveling in EU, normally I'm based in Asia (so can cover a range of timezones from EU until AUS/NZ comfortably).
I simply don't like them. There's zero use case where I would consider a foldable phone superior, or even equivalent to a regular one.
