Fedora or debian stable. I would recommend the KDE desktop environment as it closely reaembles what you're using now. try somw distro's and stick with what you like. I would not wait though. Just do it. welcome to the family

I agree. Moving to another country, even if it is on paper requires money. So does a therapist. I'm in a better position than op and I don't get a therapist although I could use one.

Self study is important though. speaking from experience with the same life experience as op, learning a new trade and going with it has changed my life for the better by a lot. finding the right (paying) employerin the trade is a bit of work (years). some jobs just don't pay enough to live off. I know it's wrong.

A tip I can give op is to put the savings in a bank account you don't have access to. in the same of somebody else. I went through a period of cash only. This was pre-smartphone, so transfers between accounts required me to go to the bank. Perhaps move financial applications to a secondary phone if you have one, or install when needed.

I have not looked into the OS used in depth. de-googlifyig the supplied OS is no meanial task. I understand of course they want to cater for a broad public. The phone looks great and no reproach to it or it's OS. would have been on my wishlist if a de-googled rom would be available.

That is literally fucked. There are some scenario's where I can imagine an ISP wanting to force wireless on. a mesh network for their customers sounds like the most straightforward reason. if you cannot replace the router, faraday the shit out of it. put your own router behind the isp router and don't forget to change the MAC address of the router (isp will probably block any 3rd party router macs on the network. seen it before)
