It's not even specifically about hiding the evil shit (which is still an issue, of course). The pos has weaponized gish gallop to the utmost extreme, flooding news with absurdities so it becomes an exercise in futility to handle any of them. A lot won't go anywhere, either, which helps normalize it all further.
And when the person getting support kills someone you care about? Still ok with that jury? Or even if they don't have support after - wtf is that going to do for the dead person? By celebrating the act, you just encourage the same behavior, and you don't get to deliberate over who the next target is - by the time you can voice an opinion, it's long past mattering.
This is the problem with the whole "glorification of a murderer" thing. Nobody gets to dictate who gets killed except the murderer. If everyone decided to do the same, it's not just the people you think "deserve it" who would be killed.
They do have a required online course with no physical attendance necessary, which is good, but I expect it to be quite minimal like the one you described. Should help with the basics, though.
But I don't want to waste my limited time while I'm there, so I'm hoping to find resources that can at least minimize the amount of trial & error I need to go through.
So obviously this sticker and mod are fucking awful, but it's worth keeping in mind that, if you're at a protest or even just crossing the street, it doesn't matter who's right when it comes to a car vs the human body if push comes to shove. I've seen protesters (rightfully) call out a car for trying to push through them, but they also started mobbing the car, which in turn panicked the driver who then recklessly sped off. Thankfully no one on foot seemed seriously injured, but it made me wonder what they thought was going to happen by surrounding the driver like that. Protest away, but keep your safety (and others) in mind, too.
It's a riff and disparagement of the saying "Black Lives Matter", which in and of itself rules out any funniness, imo. That it's about threatening violence against pedestrians just makes it worse.
In most cases, acquisition seems to work out poorly for indie studios, but ND has certainly made good use of Sony's resources while they've been there. I'm just glad I get to play their games finally.
Yeah, the pvp part kills it for me, too. If it was something like, "pve, but the map changes based on other players actions" (eg more guards at a place that just got hit, targeted defenses to recent tactics, etc), that would have been more interesting, imo.
For real. I hardly ever pay attention to AAA stuff at this point. Indie gaming has been good eating for a while now and only seems to be getting better.
If you remain fixated on the idea that your way to relax is gone, you'll never be able to find a new way. Life changes, for good and bad. It's on us to make the best of it.
Don't insult yourself. It can be difficult at times, and it feels like a small thing to worry about, but it provides a large amount of progress in that regard. I will find myself revising my own thoughts when I slip, usually ending up with a much more constructive criticism of what I'm frustrated about.
Black Flag was/is such an enjoyable game. I always wanted the option to have an npc take the helm so I could head up to the crows nest and just chill out, watching the sea pass by and listening to the crew sing shanties while we sailed off to wherever. Still holding out some slim hope that some modder will randomly take up the task some day, hah, though it seems like the modding options for BF are very limited, judging by what's available.
