Keep in mind Lahaina is laid out like a long thin strip between the ocean and a bypass road.
Wildfire came from the other side of the bypass and came towards the ocean. So likely hit the whole town all at once. Front street is the Main Street parallel to the ocean and cars would get stuck in a traffic jam easily.
Wouldn’t take long for the fire to cross the bypass and make it all the way to the ocean.
I use Silverblue with distrobox and was really hoping for a way to keep track of what I’ve installed in my distrobox images, since tracking layered packages is so easy in Silverblue already.
I’ve been intrigued by nix’s declarative aspects and this seems like a great way to have something similar with distrobox.
Edit: and yes, exporting to $PATH is also great! Right now I just have two different terminals: one launches into a distrobox image, the other the main os. Now I just need one. 😎
We treat it like a medical emergency. Reason being if it is a sudden sensorineural loss then they would start you on Prednisone asap. It may help to preserve your hearing.
We think it needs started within a few weeks (at the very most) but earlier is probably better.
That being said, it might not be a sudden sensorineural loss. A hearing test would tell you.
In my experience having seen many actual sudden sensorineural losses over the years, the treatment doesn’t necessarily help in many cases. It’s a last ditch effort really to preserve what we can. Personally, I would probably just wait for morning, but I would tell a patient to go immediately.
As a North American…. Taking a motorcycle to Costco because of its storage seems crazy.
Also taking a train anywhere near a Costco.
