    I mostly think this is the main thing about the lab. It’s content, lots of content, which he can monetize. His giant house. Lots of projects, more content.

    The data is a far secondary goal. The equipment would never pay for itself without the content it generates.

  • Have you checked out the recently added distrobox-assemble feature?

    You can define the container (or multiple containers) and what software to add (and very soon what apps and bins to export to the host) in a single config file declaratively.

    It’s the killer app for me to live alongside my Silverblue install!

  • The driver thing confuses me. What I love about Linux is I DON’T have to go on a wild search expedition for drivers or install random software to get my hardware working.

    Wacom tablet just this week.. plug in and works perfect on Linux.

    Wasted 30 minutes getting it to work on Windows and disabling the junky software it comes with on boot.

  • Disagree. Libreoffice is pretty capable for most use cases nowadays.

    Compatibility is also pretty good with Microsoft formats despite Microsoft‘s best efforts.

    OpenOffice is dead.
