I heard from a former CA member the official Isolation VR port was personally scrapped by Ridley Scott because he didn’t want players taken from his personal VR project/game, The Martian. 🙄
Sorry, I was oversimplifying/you’re right, time doesn’t slow down the smaller you get; I was thinking of how the smallest interval of time at the Planck scale can’t be defined with physics as we know it right now.
But iirc the closer you are to a higher concentration of gravity the more time slows down? I read it in a book Reality is Not What it Seems so I’m just lazily parroting things I have a casual interest in.
Time is not static. Once you get down to the Planck scale, time seems to stop. So just make yourself very, very, very small and you can experience time stoppage.
Although it’s really our memory that dictates how we perceive the passage of time; our memory only records new information, if time stopped there would be no new information to record (nor could the neurons move to make a record). For all we know time stops all the time and we just don’t know it.
Pinching pennies from public resources into private pockets, as harmless as that may seem when it starts, inevitably has the endgame of slavery.
Unfortunately for them, nobody wants to have kids in the economy they’ve created, and by the time they realize it, their only options are to either raise the retirement age, or open the borders.
Either way I would not be surprised if we have an upcoming generation of suicide bombers who— because they can’t afford healthcare and don’t want to contribute anymore to the system— take themselves out in a blaze of glory alongside their overlords.
Search apartments.com or whatever for places 1-2 hour bike rides from work. Move there.
…not joking, I’m fortunate enough in that that’s what I’ve been doing. Biking/walking to work is the only way I get any exercise (even though I can work from home). In winter months/if it’s too cold or snowy I’ll use the stationary bikes our work building put in to entice people back from COVID.
I have to have a purpose to exercise (other than health I guess?) otherwise I won’t do it.
Reminds me of that Dark Waters movie; they didn’t report chemicals because the phrasing was “report known chemical pollutants,” they didn’t know what chemicals they were polluting (it was a new compound nobody had seen before), so they didn’t report it.
Yeah if it were overturned it’d just rear its head again later by another name, and really it was just removing red tape that was likely being circumvented anyway.
“It’s not working!! Which of the 27 components did I forget??” 🪦
