I watch some trash reality TV and always find it kind of funny how contestants spend a long amount of time internalizing the stress of the situation the show they agreed to be on is putting on them.
Half of Love Island is “Why did you kiss them?” “Why did you go on a date with that person?” “Why did you break up with me?” Guys it’s a SHOW. The SHOW is making you go through these completely unnatural circumstances!
And then I think about real life and it’s like “why don’t I have energy? why am I so depressed? why can’t I be more productive?” …guys it’s CAPITALISM/SOCIETY. SOCIETY is making you go through these completely unnatural circumstances!
…except of course I didn’t agree to be on this show.
Well, better to be recalled instead of buying something off brand and replacing it every three months like I did with other batteries and cords before I caught on to those shifty Amazon scammy retailers.
…I mean yes it’d be great if nothing was recalled at all, but uhhhh, I ain’t gonna hold this one against them.
Aside from that I sort by release date and check back every now and then.
I just now noticed they had a toggle for 'Released,' so I don't have to see a bunch of TBD games. I'm just gonna start doing what you're doing and keep an eye on the list once in a while. Thank you for the tip!
I wish they’d expand on it and have a filter for player count in co-op. I have a game group of five and finding co-op, 5 player games is hard/most of them cap at 4.
The ones that don’t cap at 4 and aren’t requiring high dexterity (i.e. fps) are base building survival games all the way down— which are fine for the most part, don’t get me wrong, I just wish we could find something with the production quality and premise of Outlast Trials.
So far we’ve done: Conan Exiles, The Forest (1 & 2), Astroneer, Core Keeper, Return to Moria, Green Hell (may have been before we were at 4), Demonic, Deep Rock (with a 5 player mod), and a little REPO (which was good, but no progression system yet). I wanted to try Barotrauma but the puppet movement’s a bit janky for me.
I know there’s a third party search engine I can use, but it’s sooo full of junk it’s hard to find anything worthwhile.
Looking forward to The Big Walk, and am keeping an eye on Dune when it comes to consoles.
IMO ACAB is great on a behavioral science level: it sets the anchor/starts the conversation with a statement as an absolute, which the defense then has to find exceptions to. While they do that grunt work, the catchy phrase enables confirmation bias in the fence-sitters and people who already agreed with it.
It’s like starting a barter at an exorbitantly high price so the buyer is primed to offer a price higher than they would’ve before hearing the anchor.
