Looks like the American stock market was hit the hardest..

Wasn't the quote something like "they are ripping us off, it is pathetic".

The way I understood it was that being ripped off is pathetic. That said, it is no secret that the current administratio thinks it is true

This is going to be a bloody mess to witness from the outside. The US are shooting their own foot again and again with a bazooka and it is going to hurt the majority of its population

Mainly American people's lives. He's basically making everything more expensive in USA that is not made in USA, but most things made in USA are dependent on imported parts, fertilizers, components, raw materials etc... This is going to be a mess to witness

Denmark has been extremely polite and careful towards the Trump administration ever since Trump got really butthurt when the Prime Minister called his talk of taking over Greenland "absurd", back in 2019!

The US made agreement with Denmark to do this in 1951. Instead, the US has gone from 10000 personel to 200 and closed the majority of their bases. From 17 to 1 base.

Danish news today talked about Trump and his people maybe not being aware of this. They are sure that the US consulate on Greenland has informed them but they are not confident that the administration even knows this.

I think that they are either being naive, kind or sarcastic

I am sure he can find many other people to blame than himself

He's planning to withdraw from NATO. Otherwise it makes no sense. USA already has more or less free access to build any military base they want there

This is more than just about Denmark or Greenland. It is a strong hand to have against the US for all of NATO. If us wants to safeguard it's backdoor through Greenland, the the Usha's to be an active part and fully engaged NATO member

USA has free access to their military bases on Greenland. This is an agreement made between Denmark and USA. This trip has now been changed to them only visiting military bases, and not a planned dog sled race that was the official reason why they were visiting Greenland.
