I don’t think that ADHD “gets better” when people grow up. I think that life and circumstances change, and change affects ADHD. But this is a problem with neurodevelopment and brain chemistry, it doesn’t magically go away.
That being said, it sounds to me like you might not be medicated. That’s ok, if that’s your choice, but know that medication is the single most effective treatment for ADHD that exists right now. On its own, it’s not enough, but without it, shit gets real. Dr. Barkley has some great informative videos that really help to explain how ADHD works in our brains, and the role of medication. So. In that regard, I suggest you reach out to your doctor.
Smaller things that might help though, I always find that if I really need to concentrate, or if I really need to get something done, voices distract me (podcasts, videos, anything where someone is talking). So, I will listen to music instead, particularly music without lyrics. Lo-fi works well for this for me, or piano music, or whatever. I just try to keep the lyrics (voices) to a minimum, and it seems to help.
Something else that helps when I really need to focus is a fidget toy in one hand (give your mind monkey a banana) while I read/learn/concentrate. It’s such a small thing, but it helps SO MUCH!
I hear you, but federal law doesn’t seem to matter in the US for some reason (I’m Canadian, so I really don’t understand this). It’s all about the law in each state, federal law be damned
Stoning was torture, as well as a form of punishment. They’re not mutually exclusive, just like the woman was in prison as a form of punishment, and lived though torturous conditions.
Did you read the rest of my comment? Those were teachings, and commandments by god to torture various people for various reasons. There are many more examples in the Bible, by the way. I just grabbed the first several to come to mind.
Haha, are you high?! The Bible is full of torture! Look at the story of Job, or the commandment to rape young girls after slaughtering their families (Kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.” Numbers 31: 17-18)
If that isn’t enough for you, what about all of the various times god commands his people to stone each other for everything from cheating (Deuteronomy 17:2-7) to talking back to your parents (Proverbs 13:24; Proverbs 19:18; Proverbs 22:15)?
Or how about allowing torture with slaves? Check out Exodus 21:20-21 to learn more.
And before you go all “the Old Testament doesn’t count” on me like Christian’s are wont to do (as though picking and choosing various bits out is ok while ignoring all the fucked up bullshit instead of owning it and saying that yeah, women are worthless and deserve to be raped for no reason at all (Lot’s daughters, in case that wasn’t clear to you)) Jesus was tortured during his crusifiction, because I guess god wanted it that way?
So yeah, the god of your bible absolutely promotes torture. And if you’ve actually read it like you claim you have, you’d know that.
I use an app called Paprika. It’s not free, but well worth it, imo. It removes everything but the recipe, sorts that out into a readable format, has several timer functions that can all run simultaneously, and you can tag and filter recipes however you want.
38 times, not 3. Also, there was no “machete”, it was a cellphone. And even after all that, one of them was still yelling at him to put his hands up or he’d shoot again, while the guy was facedown and dead on his own front lawn…
“After the shooting, a Border Patrol agent could be heard threatening to shoot Mattia again if he didn’t put his hands out as the agent approached him lying motionless face down on the ground.
"Put your hands out, bro. You’re gonna get shot again," an agent yelled at Mattia in the video as he was approaching him. Mattia’s cell phone and case could be seen lying next to him in the video.”
I’m Canadian, so I didn’t learn about Andrew Jackson at all, and only was aware of his existence because he’s on some money or something. But WOW what an ASSHOLE!!!! Imagine how fucking full of yourself you’d have to be to wipe out a whole village, find one tiny sole survivor, and then give him to your child to be a fucking pet.
Unbelievable!!!! And then to act like you’re some kind of benevolent savior when you were the cause of the goddamn genocide to begin with. I can’t even.
I’m sorry this happened to your ancestors. I’m sorry all of it happened. People are horrible.
Edit: wait, this was the guy responsible for the Trail of Tears as well?! Wasn’t he the inspiration for Hitler?!? Holy fuck.
I mean, it mentions that the parents were from the West Bank.
“Wadea’s mother and father had moved to the United States 12 and nine years ago, respectively, and their son was born here, Rehab added. They were from a village in the West Bank, he said.”
Less women and girls make it into tech for a wade variety of reasons, not the least of which is the conditioning she receives (whether directly or indirectly) that plays a huge part in career choices. Many girls are not given the same opportunities as the boys because “it’s a waste, they’re just going to become mothers anyways”. Many girls are not pushed into STEM courses and programs because of outdated and wrong assumptions like “girls are bad at math” or “girls aren’t interested in science”, and so aren’t given the same attention as their male peers in these classes that they’re required to take. As a result, teachers with these inherent beliefs won’t present the same options to the girls as they do the boys.
What about gravity and friction though? Because as it stands now, if the string was in a frictionless environment and was unaffected by gravity, then yes, you’d be able to ring the bell. However, the friction between the string and the earth over that kind of distance would require more pull strength than the string itself would be able to handle without breaking, unless it was made of some crazy strong material like some kind of nanocarbon alloy or something like that.
I think a lot of people don’t know about the settlements. I’ve never been myself, but I’d love to go someday. I want to go walk around it, and see what they saw.
The article makes it sound like the FACTA laws only apply to US citizens, but they also apply to all residents of the US, whether you’re a citizen or just there on a visa. Also, if you are required to file FACTA, you are also required to use a tax attorney, not just a tax accountant, which increases the costs even more.
I thought they figured this out already, and it was a combination of the lime chunks allowing the concrete to heal, and also mixing it hot somehow made a difference.
I doubt it was a girl. A guy, though….
