  • I got one a very long time ago, when it was cheap and seemed like a good investment in an up-and-coming ecosystem. It's worked out for me, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else, at this point.

I'm just waiting for them to find a way to reneg on the pass and then I'm off to Jellyfin like everyone else.

  • What does "woke" mean, when you say it? It used to refer to awareness of the existence of institutional racism. Does "anti-woke" refer to a lack of awareness, or a lack of concern? Would you argue that that would be a good thing?

  • I see the same thing. And as your down-votes suggest, Lemmy isn't much better. People seem to miss out on the fact that, just because one side is very wrong, that doesn't mean the other is entirely flawless. The left is now blowing sunshine up their own posteriors, and demanding others do the same. They become what they despise.

  • This is truth. The old adage about throwing your vote away isn't exaggeration, or even opinion. In a First Past the Post election, is just math. And math doesn't care about anyone's sense of moral righteousness.

  • Turning office space into living space is often mentioned in discussions like this. It should be noted that converting the space is not as easy as it seems. In particular, moving the plumbing infrastructure to support individual bathrooms and kitchens is extremely challenging and it makes some projects impracticable.
