You don't think that Lemmy and Reddit can both fail to meet expectations?

This is clearly by design.

I mean, if you're being invaded, doesn't anything you do to fight back count as "defense"?

I know how everyone just wants to pipe up and say, "well it didn't crush me hur hur", but I actually watched the video. It's a good record of what went down. I wish it would've mentioned Reddit alternatives, but it's still solid work.

And to anyone who still maintains that the protest has fatally wounded Reddit, look, I'm on your side but Reddit is still the 800 lb gorilla of link aggregation, and most folks still don't get why they should care about API pricing.

Depending on who you talk to, it actually might. Even this phrase, a sensible request for freedom on its face, is absolutely a call for the dissolution of Israel to some who use it. Finding an innocent in the conflict, outside of a maternity ward, is mighty challenging.

I'm sorry but, good? I understand that Israel is not innocent in this conflict, and I get that Palestinians have it hard, but what Hamas just did was an atrocity. If you think this is the time to pile onto Israel, the world needs to know your priorities

Its especially innocuous if you choose the pronoun on the character screen that you're are used to using. Or just leave it at default, which is cis gendered. You have to really go out of your way to make this weird.

It's not you. I don't want to say, "both sides", because one side is clearly worse than the other, but these people are becoming what they despise. If you look at the worst kinda quasi-religious hive-mind discourse they used to have on /r/TheDonald, and shift it left, it would look like this.

Have my upvote. This post is getting hammered for the supreme sin of introducing nuance to a thread where everyone just wants to be righteously indignant. Most or us have parents who qualify as conservative, but not as evil. It's like that.
