I was so tired earlier that I just realised that I called my bathroom the laundry in my little story about being tired. I guess it's kind of both.. in a way.. the laundry is literally a cupboard in the bathroom.
Oh boy I'm real tired. I had some stuff in my hand to throw in the bin and I walked to the laundry, lifted the laundry basket lid and ALMOST released before realising that a moment earlier I'd thought about picking up yesterday's tshirt and putting it in the laundry basket and that's how that all happened. I think I might make the effort to seek coffee this morning.
I don't know why I cared enough to do this but I figured out how to split my mp3 audiobook out into chapters then merge them back together into a proper audiobook format which supports chapters. Now it looks like the real deal in the app! Literally does not change anything about the way I listen to it. The app already remembers where you left off etc but now I have ✨ CHAPTERS! ✨
Docklands here and I can't hear nuffin. About 4km away from the track. I just opened my balcony to check but maybe they're not racing right now either.
Welp I finished the 3rd Annihilation audiobook today/tonight on my drive. Still a little confused about what exactly was going on but I think maybe that's the point.
Saw someone mention World War Z so I went hunting for how I can listen to that one. Turns out it's not available as part of the Spotify Premium audiobooks and there was no option I could find besides buying it sooooo I may have hit the high seas. I could only find a version of the cool 2013 edition in like 92 WAV files and every 10th had overlapping parts so I stayed up late merging them all into 1 big MP3 and getting rid of the overlaps so it's nice and smooth. Found a great Audiobook player for Android which has Android Auto support called Smart Audiobook Player and was more than happy to right away pay the $3.29 or whatever it was for the full version after giving it a quick try.
It's a fantastic app from what I can see. It's how apps should be.. like they used to be before everyone started charging subscription fees.
Nope I haven't spent any time in SA besides Adelaide and traversing to/from it by car without detouring. Could definitely be an option though. FNQ is nice and all but it is a lot of driving to pack into a week.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into that area.
I did some googling into what that is and although slightly intriguing.. I'm not sure that's something I would be comfortable attending solo. Also I feel like I'm already judging imaginary attendees in my mind as poseurs and phoneys and I can't handle people like that very well. I'm pre-gatekeeping a community I'm not even a part of and that's a me problem.
Considering blowing out the Easter long weekend into the next week and doing a significant drive. Back to looking at the map and thinking about where's new and interesting. I have never been west of Adelaide city in SA, or really anywhere in SA besides Adelaide city and a suburb around it or two. Adelaide is barely worth slowing down for but maybe Port Lincoln or Flinders Ranges could be alright.
I've done the east coast up and down a bunch of times so it's not super appealing to me unless I decide to go FNQ which I've only visited twice but I do like me some tropical holiday.
I have not thought at all about what to do with the weekend yet and then I realised next weekend is a long weekend and I also have no ideas for that.
BUT I am finally getting my dashcam installed on Tuesday so maybe I should hit the road for the long weekend and see if I can get some Dashcam Owners Australia footage of some dickhead doing dickheadery.
Got the word this afternoon that my role is being extended for another 18 months. They couldn't swing making it permanent, but we'll look at that again in 18 months' time. No going back to Operations. All Strategy for me!
I found out yesterday that the 2500 point free large McCafe beverage party is over. Used to be 2500 points for any McCafe beverage so I would get a free large iced latte and my crispy chicken Caesar wrap when I'm out on the road for lunch.
Now it's 2500 points for a small or medium and 5000 points for a large.
Has been a good thing for years but sadly nothing good lasts forever.
Went into Autobarn to put a deposit down on my $270 dashcam installation. Lady says: "do you remember who you spoke to?" No, sorry. "That's alright.. were you quoted $250?"
....Yes. Yes I was.
Oh also I went to the 10c recycling place for the first time with my 2 garbage bags of cans and bottles. $9.50 cash money in my pocket.
My CBDA oil and THC balm arrived in the mail today. Just so happened I had a cracking headache at lunch so I rubbed some balm on my temples and back of neck as described and it has actually fixed me right up!
You can literally just order this stuff online from a normal website. I had no idea. You do have to pay $1 to join their community, then you get access to the store and just buy stuff. Can't wait until our country catches up to other countries and we can head down to the local dispensary.
You wanted bunnies specifically right? Not eggs. For that authentic bunny flavour.
