Great point. Eating is such a large part of culture. It’s why there are countless cooking/food/travel shows out there (Bourdain being the GOAT). Anyone not participating in this collective ritual is separating themselves from a large part of society.

I’ve met people who claim they don’t enjoy eating and only do it because they have to. Often, they’re the same people who use that Soylent stuff. I can’t comprehend that mindset. I spend most of my day looking forward to my next meal.

Couldn’t have said it better. I’m concerned about the next few years, but if we can get through it with a functioning society then I think this is what will happen.

One of my impostors signed up for adult friend finder and tinder using my address. Try explaining that to the wife. I also get important mortgage documents, consulting invoices, family gathering plans, you name it. The ones in Austin TX and London are especially egregious.

As you probably already understood, AI will be everywhere, it is inevitable.

I’ll stop you right there. It is not inevitable. Here’s the problem: These “AI” models are absurdly expensive to train and use. Right now, the ai companies are charging fractions of their actual cost in order to hook people. The problem is that it’s not sustainable. At some point soon, they’re going to have to raise their rates by an order of magnitude in order to break even, much less profit and repay the huge sums due to their investors. When that happens, do you really think it will still be in every camera? It is a technology that will absolutely exist after the inevitable collapse of the industry, but it won’t devour the world or any of that nonsense. After, it’s just a fancy probability machine.
