  • Blur - Song 2 was intended as a parody of American rock and is laden with nonsense lyrics. It's their most known song in America by a wide margin and might even be their most known song globally.

    Woohoo

  • I don’t think you’re getting me. Just voting for progressive candidates won’t fix things. I don’t know if there was any point where that was enough to fix things, but if there was it definitely isn’t now.

I was a vote guy until last November. You're absolutely 100% right. Electoralism has failed. We cannot expect elected officials to somehow fix this and we cannot expect people in Washington to fix it. Bernie said as much himself. The system is corrupt to its core and it's gonna take a movement from the grass roots level to change it.

Or more likely America will just become a fascist dictatorship complete with concentration camps, disappearing people, fake ass state run media, and pretend elections.

  • Yeah but most of these errors don't even give out a uuid that could be used to relate the error to logs to be resolved by someone.

Not that that someone exists anyway. Let's face it the entire industry is a massive joke and a pile of shit and with AI coming fast and hard soon you won't even get the privilege of venting to a call center person about it.

You'll vent to some made-up chatbot named veeblezorp and he will give you an impromptu therapy session about the state of the world. Your computer/tablet/phone/app still won't work properly and veeblezorp will try to get you through the stages of grief about that.

Just unplug it and don't plug it back in again. Go for a walk. Play with the dog. Hug your children. Stop buying crap online that scales up infinitely to take new customers (and their dollars) but is forever stuck at the sub-garage startup level when it comes to support.

  • There’s not an organized “March on Washington” type thing because the country spans a continent. It’s an expensive 5 hour flight from Los Angeles to DC and that’s if you fly direct.

And feel like flying and risking becoming a headline because the FAA is falling apart.

Bernie is right though, yet again. Change isn't gonna happen in Washington. People need to protest where they are and get involved locally. Notice how the torching of Tesla cars is the only thing that grabs headlines? That's telling you something. If we want coverage this time with the corporate media in on the job, standing around in hats holding signs in free speech zones ain't likely to cut it.

  • Kamala came in way too fucking late thanks to Biden. But even so, her policies were still pandering to corporations and the rich, although it is undeniable she would have been vastly superior to Trump which is why she got my vote.

I think what's been proven is that the US will not vote overwhelmingly for a DNC robo-woman candidate.

It's still America. There are people who voted for two terms of Obama and then flipped to Trump. Hell, there are some people who voted for Biden in 2020 and then Trump in 2024.

Perhaps most voters in the country have absolutely zero fixed values or do any meaningful analysis into who they are voting for. It's vibes-based and perhaps always has been.

All that said, I don't think it's been proven or disproven that the US will not vote for a woman candidate that aligns with the country's "vibes" at the moment so to speak.

The data doesn't look very good that America will vote overwhelmingly for a woman for president based upon the limited results we have so far...but they did vote to send Harris into the east wing before she had been thoroughly unmasked as a corporate drone....so that's something positive.

It easily could be that the American electorate is just way more misogynist than it is racist. 🤷 We'll never know without running a reasonably charismatic woman candidate with non-corporate drone policies though.

  • DNC establishment candidates are proven losers IMO. Only Biden won as a DNC establishment candidate in the last 20 years. The rest of the milquetoast horseshit from the DNC has lost national elections regularly and thoroughly.

Obama won despite the DNC, not because of it, and he largely sat outside of its apparatus for his entire two terms. John Kerry was garbage. HRC was garbage. Harris would've been somewhat exciting if she'd been 2020 Harris, but instead she was a DNC robot candidate that had flipped all of her progressive positions to appease the DNC apparatus...with predictable results.

  • it simply edited the content to be a bunch of random gibberish.

I used a tool that did this. I also used it on purpose because I figured it would make the content more difficult to farm. Lots of software doesn't actually delete anything when you delete it, but it's a lot more work to put versioning in and then you'd have to go search the version history to find a version that wasn't mangled to farm it...so that'll all theoretically make it more difficult for them to find what I originally wrote.
