I remember having a cd player with a skip buffer in it. Still didn't really work for running like you're saying but at least I could bounce around on the bus to and from school without it constantly skipping.

It doesn't matter whether or not nuclear plants are possible if humans don't build them. The science backing them existing is meaningless.

You can be a content creator. It's not that difficult to post a meme. Content creators aren't another species.

But I was told by dumbass "conservatives" that having a phone (or a TV or whatever electronic pos) meant historic levels of wealth and income inequality were A-OK. Surely, those people couldn't have been just lying to me...on the Internet. Who would do such a thing?

Honestly lemmy specifically is good enough to scratch my Reddit itch. We may not be able to post our way out of fascism, but we can certainly post our way out of the centralized, enshittified platforms like Reddit where we came from.

I think it's more difficult in applications where you want or have to bring a lot of friends to make the apps useful, but in the case of lemmy specifically if there's a baseline level of activity that's enough to fulfill 90% of what i used Reddit for (i.e. snarky memes and random back and forths with relative strangers).

I think the legal, standing around with signs protest is going to have to have its toothier cousin (the violent riot) starting up again alongside it if we want anything to change. They already painted the 2020 protests as "burning the cities down" despite them being >90% peaceful. We might as well -- to reference Kendrick Lamar's lyrics -- fuck being rational and give em what they asked for.

It was also only based upon a DOJ memo of some sorts for a long time. The "Supreme Court"'s recent decision though makes it seem like the only legal remedy for an active criminal president is to impeach and then convict and remove them first.
