  • Because he's very vocal and very visible. While Trump takes all the ire and vitriol they can do all the fully heinous shit that actually makes a difference while very few people actually realize it.

He's the rodeo clown of the republican party.

  • I mean, DS9 was almost as much in the boonies as Voyager. Assistance was limited, and there were limitations on what he could do, as he was only running the station at the behest of the Bajoran government, not as a true representative of the Federation.

It also introduced facets of war, even before it became a full blown thing in the later seasons. He wasn't always on the side of the angels... because there are no angels in war. War only ever makes demons.

It doesn't excuse his actions, but it doesn't make them truly inexcusable either. They both operated in much more of a grey area than either of the two previous series.

  • Considering how long, and how political, ever decision going through congress gets... you really want every single action of the government to be based on the constant bickering of politicians?

The reason we have these federal agencies is so that decisions can be made without political motivation.

  • I don't love him. I think he's taking half measures mostly as an attempt to maintain an economic status quo while pushing for a little bit of social justice (as a treat). It's a move in a positive direction... but mostly because it's the best way to be in opposition of the other side.

I'll still vote for him, because that's the only two choices we're given for the presidential election. I'll still push for better, and vote more for who I think will actually make a difference at lower levels (state/local races), but I literally can't vote for who I "love" because it just won't make any difference.

Love doesn't enter into the equation, sadly.

  • Ah right, good ole "I didn't get my hands dirty, therefore I'm not culpable"

He is playing defense for the current Israeli regime, helping keep it propped up not just through aid and arms, but through diplomatic pressures as well. He's not solely responsible for Netenyahu and his cronies actions... but that doesn't mean his hands are completely clean, either.
