  • I try to post articles here that I find interesting and worth discussing. If you would prefer to have more articles about native Linux games, please post them.

  • That is still enough friction to prevent people from signing up. I didn't sign up for a long time because trying to choose a server felt overwhelming. It wasn't until they allowed more sign ups at mastodon.social that I gave it another try.

  • vi is definitely different being a modal editor. If you are new to Linux, I would suggest nano. It is much easier to understand, even if it isnt as fast as vi can be. Many distros have it installed, and pretty much all of them should have it in their repos.

  • I've borked my system a few times, but I know it was always because I messed with stuff that I didn't understand. My system is much more stable now that I learned those early lessons.

  • If you want to move windows in GNOME/KDE, you can hold the windows key + left click anywhere on the window to move it. You can do something similar for resizing with a right click instead.

ctrl+c and Ctrl+v do not work in windows CMD/powershell windows either.

  • You will want to modify the sudoers file. In a terminal sudo nano /etc/sudoers. You will want to go down to the line %wheel ALL=(ALL:ALL) ALL and comment it out by adding # in front of it. A few lines down should be a similar line # %wheel ALL=(ALL:ALL) NOPASSWD: ALL. You will want to uncomment this by deleting the # at the beginning of the line. With nano, you can save by hitting ctrl+O then hitting ENTER to confirm. Hit ctrl+X to exit nano.

  • The $11 version doesn't have multiplayer though. The two are not similar, which makes this a bit more confusing.

  • macOS and iOS both have their own feel that just isnt intuitive for me.

  • I had issues with ChimeraOS. Its install process is different though.

  • It depends on where the files are located. If they are within your WSL distro, then speed is similar to a Linux VM. If you need to do large operations on Windows files from WSL, WSLv1 is a better option.

  • Are there any devices that allow a replaceable battery and wireless charging? I know battery swapping can become common, but I also do not want to lose a feature that I currently enjoy.

  • Maybe it is time we finally change the way taxes are done. Most of us could just have the IRS do our taxes then we confirm what they did.

  • Yes, you will be able to emulate it with older cards. Not recommended, but it is still something you can do in Windows.

  • That will depend on each game. The big change is that games will see that the GPU is capable of hardware raytracing now.

  • Having raytracing by default will be great. One more step towards full compatibility with Windows.

  • Hopefully they can continue to add more stores. Maybe Humble Bundle and itch.io can be added in the future too.

  • It's crazy how Perez has fallen this year. Towards the beginning, I thought he might be able to fight with Verstappen for the Championship. Now I'm not sure if he will still have a seat at Red Bull next year.

  • I was frustrated during the race, but given the late switch to a safety car, I can understand why they chose the hards.

  • 3 years of community service feels pretty light for a serious offense. Swatting has lead to deaths and we need to do more to treat it like the crime that it is.
