  • It has a microSD slot, no headphone jack though.

  • This is pretty exciting. I wish it would have happened sooner though. It was at the top of my list when I was looking at phones last year, but it was still unavailable when I decided to go with the Pixel 7.

  • The Steam Deck may not have a ton of users, but enough that developers are willing to put in a little more effort to ensure compatibility.

  • I agree with your assessment. I never had a OP phone, but they seemed like solid mid-range choices at the start. I did consider picking up a used on recently, but it would have been for installing LineageOS on it. I wouldn't trust the default software that comes on the phone like any Chinese phone.

  • I have a Linux "console", but it runs ChimeraOS instead. I have some of the same issues, like each game having the resolution default to the Steam Deck's (1280 x 800). I didn't experience some of the other issues that he had because ChimeraOS configures these correctly from the start. I think it is worth if if you are primarily a PC gamer, due to keeping the same library and sharing saves.

  • It's great to see so many games, including new games being verified. I have moved all of my gaming devices over to Linux and have almost no issues playing games.

  • As Lemmy continues to grow, individual game subs will begin to grow. Right now there are not enough users to sustain these individual communities.

  • I used to be big into Windows, despite it's downsides and tracking. Then I saw an article showing Microsoft was expirementing with ads in File Explorer. Went home and installed Linux and haven't gone back because it is so much better here.

  • I could post why I do not like Apple, but that isn't why I prefer Android.

I like how there are a ton of options on Android. I can control what hardware I have, from an ultrabudget $100 phone to a $2000 foldable flagship. I can choose how I control my device, I can choose how my device looks. All of these things add up to letting me have the best experience.

I also like how you can install custom ROMs on many devices. This allows even more options in terms of personal control.

  • I always double check for Steam Verified/ProtonDB, but almost every game just works right out of the box for me.
