  • I'm spending way more time online in general and on SM in particular, just not on one platform. I think it's because, in searching for something new, I've found all of these other places each with their unique culture, atmosphere, etiquette, and language. And each place is introducing me to new things (new search engines, browsers, streaming sites and apps, podcasts, RSS feeds to subscribe to, etc.) If I had stuck to Reddit, I just would've been doomscrolling instead of exploring what's out there.

  • I will say it's good that:

    • You are normalizing electric cars for other drivers who see you on the road and for your family, friends, and neighbors
    • You are not using gas
    • You are saving money on fuel

That was a dose of niceness for this thread :)

I have a neighbor who has a Tesla and I legit feel bad for him for the scorn he is probably having to deal with in his circle (he bought it pre Twitter Musk and he works in politics on the left).

  • I clicked on the link (this was posted.on Tildes, that's where I clicked) and it was a flood of "API" sprinkled with some "F U u/Spez" comments. Just nonstop. So, I suspect this is not going over so well.

  • I thought a banger was just a stronger version of a bop - a really great song that slaps (more youngin vernacular).

There is such a thing as a sad banger - a slower, more downbeat song that is great and really moves you. May I submit for your approval: New Person, Same Old Mistakes by Tame Impala (or Same Ol' Mistakes by Rihanna). ETA: I would also consider Missing by Everything But the Girl a sad banger.
