It is tough to say. But there are red flags. Like when an opinion on a post is repeated a lot by different accounts in the thread but are heavily downvoted and an opposing opinion is heavily upvoted.

This is what I would expect to see if bots brigading a thread are using unpopular talking points.

For example, I see it a lot with anti DNC threads with the same accounts posting similar comments throughout multiple reposts of a single post. If I had to assume what views they are trying to promote, I would say they seem to be trying to discourage democrats to vote by sowing apathy aka FUD.

It just has to be proportional. Reports on these bot farms have shown that they absolutely go into small niche areas to influence people. Facebook groups being one of the most notable that comes to mind.

So if a bunch of accounts on lemmy repeat an opinion that isn’t popular with people I meet IRL then that could be an attempt to change public opinion using bots on lemmy?

China, Russia, Iran, North Korea all working together to start World War 3 which would cause more genocide than 10 Gazas.

Withholding your vote will cause more genocide.

Because it is foreign actors that are pushing to stop weapon sales to Israel and that would give Iran and Russia such a military advantage that it isn’t an option.

What about the genocide in Ukraine being caused by Iran’s drones and Russias invasion. Just let Iran produce more drones for Russia while Russia entrenches itself in Syria, cool.

The only way to stop the genocide in Gaza is to replace Netanyahu. But the Russian/Iranian bots aren’t pushing that talking point.

The left wasn't tricked, we're just sick of being taken for granted and having our concerns blatantly ignored. Your failure to make concessions and compromises with your own base is shooting yourself in the foot.

This is why the left consistently loses and never gets legislation passed. Democrats could explain there aren’t enough votes in Congress for them to get what they want but they aren’t smart enough to win on their own so how can they understand even such a simple concept.

Leftist can’t win elections so they have to leech off democrats’ success, dragging democrats down to their level of constant losing.

Obama didn’t win because of universal healthcare. That worked against him but he did it to make leftists happy and they crucified him when he didn’t have enough votes in senate and had to compromise.

That’s what leftists do. Attack their allies and refuse to work with other ideologies.

Hilary won the popular vote and lost because of Russian election interference.

Harris lost because she tried to cater to leftists and they abandoned her. Again proving that leftist are a waste of time.

Why didn’t you mention Biden? He had a record setting win without leftists.

Democrats didn’t discuss Gaza because the US funds Israel to keep Iran from growing in power in that region and keep Russia at bay in Syria. Iran/Russia bots are working overtime to try to get people like you to do their work for them.

Leftists consistently lose elections and have never gotten a single piece of legislation passed. They are a very small fraction of all voters and they refuse to work with other ideologies. This guarantees they will continue to lose and never get any legislation passed.

Democrats are better off working with centrists because they actually show up to vote. Unlike leftists who can easily be tricked into not voting in their own best interest by using hot topics like Gaza or whatever the current event is.

Democrats have been winning without leftists since the 90s. After leftists tanked the 2024 election by not showing up to vote, democrats are better off appealing to centrists like they have every election win since the 90s.

Trump lost by more than Harris in 2020 then came back and won. If he followed your advice he wouldn’t have won in 2024.

Leave it to leftists (a group that never wins elections) to quit too soon.

If the DNC had open primaries we would have a democratic version of Trump.

Why are progressives pushing to remove the vetting process the DNC has to prevent this? Are the progressives being so vocal for these changes arguing in bad faith?

How would dismantling the DNC undo Citizens United? Wouldnt it instead create many more opportunities to get bad actors and bought politicians into the DNC for sabotage?

What point was I not willing to consider and how did you prove I didn’t consider it? Or did you not prove what I considered, and made up that lie because I’m not repeating echos in an echo chamber?

If you’re only willing to comment to people that will circle jerk with you then you should assess your bias.
