I do wonder how much of that is Russian psyop. I feel like the whole chapotraphouse thing was started or at least very influenced by bad actors and propaganda bots. That place was a shitshow, for sure.
Lemmygrad and Hexbear most definitely do not tolerate homophobia, though, so I don't think that user would've lasted long there if they were a lemmygrad user.
I never said you were naive, I said the comment you replied to was. You sound unhappy. I wish you nothing but good things and I hope you have a nice life. Peace.
Calling that comment, "incredibly hateful and transphobic", can take power away from things that are actually hateful and transphobic. JK Rowling is a transphobe and can fuck off, for sure, but that comment was not hateful. They never even mentioned their own opinion on Trans rights anywhere in it. It was just an incredibly naive and ignorant take about the JK Rowling situation.
That being said, it was a bad take, for sure. It's dumb to give anyone a pass for shitty behavior based on other things that they have done.
ASAP was first used in the US military in the 1950s, and AFAIK originated on usenet and has been used since the 80s. If you are 35 or under, both of these acronyms have existed since before you were born fr fr.
You are right. I haven't seen that movie in ages and forgot. I thought the person I replied to was just race baiting at first, but they were just vibing. I apologize for jumping to conclusions.
I will always support someone's right to burn an inanimate object that they own themselves. I would think that person is an asshole, but would not feel threatened by it in anyway. I am what those BLM flag burners would consider a POC.
I didnt know that only white people had internet access before 99. I'm glad they let us in, eventually. I had internet access at school before 99, but it must've been a white school or something.
It must be cool to be white and immune to being poor.
Edit: this comment was a Lone Ranger quote. Not just nonchalant racism. I haven't seen that movie in ages. It is a classic. Carry on friend. I apologize for assuming the worst.
I don't see how someone burning a copy of a book that they paid for themselves is discrimination. It is criticism and protest, but not discriminatory. It isn't denying anyone else's access to the words in the book. It's just making a political statement.
Ideas should always be allowed to be criticized. Inanimate objects shouldn't be given human rights.
There are little kids out there that want to be cops to be a hero and save the world from bad stuff. I know because I was one of them when I was real young. I know some of these kids must grow up and still have that desire to be the good guy and become cops.
Some of the ones that stick around by their own will and don't try to change anything probably are just brainwashed into thinking that they are doing what is right and what needs to be done. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely also some power hungry sociopaths who just enjoy the control that they are given over other people.
Part of the problem is also that everybody's definition of "bad guy" is a bit different, and it is largely based on how the person was raised and how much critical thinking skills they have(they were gullible enough to fall for the propaganda that cops were good in the first place, so they probably don't have much of that).
I guess I'm just trying to add that not all cops are sociopaths. Some are just gullible and brainwashed into thinking they are part of the "good guys", and don't have the critical thinking skills to reassess. Considering that most Police departments refuse to hire people with high IQs, it seems at least partially designed to work this way.
