  • For sure. Actual leftists often criticize the Dems, because the Dems aren't leftist. They are mostly just centrists and they are in bed with Corporate America. That being said, I don't understand why some people have to criticize every little thing. I have been pretty critical of the Democratic party, myself, as a self identifying Socialist (begrudgingly still vote for them, because the other 1 option is way worse). These pardons are a good thing, though, and I don't see what the problem is for some people.

Some extreme leftists just turn into such contrarians that they end up sounding the same as right wing fear mongerers. It's like the political spectrum is a circle, with both of the left and right ends meeting up in a bubble of authoritarianism and hate.

  • Many Native American people prefer the term "American Indians", to be fair. There is a bit of a split on which one is preferrable depending on who you ask. It varies from tribe to tribe, region to region, and with age differences.

Most Native people would just prefer to be called by their tribal affiliation over either of the terms, but accept them as our collective terms for them. Many don't care which one you use because it's wrong either way, really.

This is just from my experience talking with some people from different tribes in my area, and from seeing the question posted on forums before.

  • Oh for sure, it is scary how they can do mental gymnastics like that. All it really takes is a corrupt judge that follows the Bible more than they follow our laws and constitution to be able to sidestep that, too. Thankfully, most judges do make their decisions based on our laws and constitution.

  • Sucks for them. They apparently haven't heard of Title VII of the Civil rights act.

"Religious beliefs include theistic beliefs (i.e. those that include a belief in God) as well as non-theistic “moral or ethical beliefs as to what is right and wrong which are sincerely held with the strength of traditional religious views.”

"Religious observances or practices include, for example, attending worship services, praying, wearing religious garb or symbols, displaying religious objects, adhering to certain dietary rules, proselytizing or other forms of religious expression, or refraining from certain activities."

Those quotes are from the US customs and border protection website here. Straight from the horses mouth.

  • That kind of sucks. I mean as far as gun tubers go he is on the left of that spectrum, but I guess that's a pretty low bar. Ian always struck me as a libertarian of some sorts. His buddy Karl from InRange TV has taken a lot of flack on gun forums and what not for vocalizing support for the trans community. I think that guy might be a Socialist of some kind maybe.

Thanks for the heads up on that, though. I had no idea. I haven't kept up on his newest videos, but he has such a backlog that idk if I ever will. I only watch the main videos occasionally so I would have had no idea about that other crap he puts on his page. Definitely disappointing.

  • I haven't seen Forgotten Weapons mentioned, yet. If you couldn't tell by the channel name, it covers rare and historical weapons, mostly firearms, but does so in a straightforward, informational, and apolitical way. It's basically the kind of show the history channel should make. I think he's been putting out episodes since around 2011.

  • That is the exact goal of The Satanic Temple. They would be incredibly happy to have their own symbols removed, as it would mean all religious symbols would be removed from government institutions. They are trying to scare Christians into voting against their own legislation, basically.

The first amendment in the constitution makes it so the government has to give equal rights to all religions, so the Christians can't remove the Satanic symbols without also voting to remove their own.

  • We probably got pretty good at picking birds out of trees with those things back when our dinner depended on it. There were definitely some impressive acts of slingery going on at some point.

  • There are some people that send a lot of pictures over text messages, who want it for the upgraded image sharing quality. That's a sane enough reason, at least.

On the bright side, the kind of people who judge other people for their text message bubble color are not the kind of people I want in my life. So at least it's another asshole filter.
