  • Probably is. Raisins makes many people's blood sugar levels shoot thru the roof. It's basically candies. The only issue with nuts is that it's easy to over eat them and they're hugely calorie dense

  • Them capturing back all lost territories including Crimea is possible but unlikely and to be frank I have hard time taking seriously someone presenting themselves as some kind of an expert on the subject matter who refuses to admit this. There's an acceptable amount of losses for both sides and negotiations wont start untill either side reaches a line after which the casualties becomes untolerable compared to the gains they're making. Russia can probably keep throwing their poor farmers into the meat grinder for much longer than Ukraine can. This is not especially relevant yet but unless some big break through is in the horizon it might be something people need to seriously start discussing in the somewhat near future.

Also I'm not a military expert either so what do I know. This just seems like the most honest assesment of the situation right now.

  • Couldn't agree more. As someone not shying away from controversial discussions reddit used to be frustrating because it created the illusion that no-one ever agrees with you. I don't at all mind the total points being negative when I can atleast see that third of the people still agree with me.

  • People demanding others to leave Twitter often seem to forget that not everyone has the same experience on that platform. If one wants to argue that I should leave to make some sort of a statement then fair enough, but to claim I should leave because it has now become something it wasn't before doesn't at all resonate with my personal experience. Besides the obvious UI changes I haven't noticed anything else to be different. No one is forcing right wing/conspiracy propaganda down my throat there. My highly curated feed has the same content it always has and when I see something I'm not interested about I block it and it's gone. Lemmy is way better alternative for Reddit than Mastodon is for Twitter.

  • I have 3 gerbils.

It's quite a lot of entertainment for such a low maintenance pet and if I'm staying away from home for few days I just need to make sure their bowl is filled with food and I put few extra water bottles and they'll be just fine. Downside is that they only live 2 to 3 years but then again you then get to choose wether to get new ones or something else. Something like a cat or dog is a much longer commitement.

Gerbils are surprisingly social animals and super curious about everything. I love when I'm doing stuff and notice one of them just observing me thru the glass and clearly thinking hard in her little head about what's going on.

A protip for anyone thinking about getting gerbils: get three. It's highly probable one is going to die much sooner than the others and they get depressed when alone. Introducing new gerbils to adult one can be difficult so by having three there's a greater chance the last two are going to live about equally long.

  • As buddhists say; you can't become happy you can only be happy

I think it can be achieved but it may not be what most people think. I believie happines is not a goal you reach but rather a state that is realized. It's when you're satisfied with what you have and stop putting conditions on you happiness. Life is unsatisfactory - that's what most are dealing with rather than unhappiness.

  • Most people can't put on a screen protector properly. I wouldn't perhaps go as far as claiming replacing iPhone battery takes no technical expertise. It's not hard but not quite easy either. In the case of iPhone there's also that even if you do it properly the device still detects it's not the original Apple approved battey so they limit functions on your phone such as battery health, true tone etc. New MacBooks does this aswell.

  • Yeah it's wasteful for sure and many of these people are building these somewhere in New Zealand for example expecting that they can just fly a private jet there when the shit hits the fan. If I were to build one I'd want to live there too so it wouldn't just be a concrete box under ground.

  • My current device and the two before that all have had removable batteries. I've always thought built in batteries are stupid and it's nice to finally notice that other people agree. Hopefully they next mandate that it has to be able to be taken apart with a screwdriver and spare parts must be able to be purchased straight from the manufacturer.
