I don’t know why some want to be around in a post-apocalyptic world
Humans have a strong will to survive and we're great at adapting. I don't quite see what's so strange about it. If a plane crashes into ocean and I find myself on a deserted island I'd try to survive there too. Ofcourse in a post apocalyptic world there's no hope of help arriving but that doesn't really change anything for me. I find thinking about stuff like this fascinating and I'd absolutely build myself a "doomsday bunker" if I was a millionaire. Not because I believe or hope that day might arrive when I need it but simply just because it's kind of a hobby of mine.
It's more interesting that engaging with people that already agree with you. Up to a point ofcourse. Once you realize that nothings getting thru either way it's often better to just move on.
Sam Harris subreddit. It was the only place where one could have deep philosophical discussions without people losing their minds when you say something that sounds controversial. Used to have days long conversations there about morality, AI, free will, mediation and such.
The vast majority of users I block don't break the rules. It's usually that I see a low-effort comment so I open their profile and if their post history indicates they're providing nothing of a value here I block them to improve the noise to signal ratio on my feed. It's not about wether I agree with them or not but are they making any sense.
I believe statistically FSD is already better driver than a human. Ofcourse there are situations that confuse the AI and it makes errors a human wouldn't but this kind of stuff gets slowly ironed out over time. People also seem to forget that human drivers do pretty fucking stupid mistakes too. Enough so that 40000 of them die every ear in US alone. 100% safety is probably impossible to achieve and 99.99% safety means 33000 accidents per year.
It's easy to pick on Tesla due to the CEO being quite unpopular so every time a Tesla does something it's not supposed to it gets so wide media attention that it seems way more common that it really is.
Nevertheless self driving cars are here to stay and there will be time when wanting to drive by yourself will be considered irresponsible and unsafe. And I say this as someone with zero interest in owning such car.
The data is widely available and has been provided to you several times in this thread. You just refuse to accept it because it goes against your prior beliefs.
A person clearly can't be reasoned out of a belief they weren't reasoned into.
We're talking about overall safety here. Even with 99.99% safety rate you're still getting 33000 accidents a year in the US alone. There's always going to be individual incidents to talk about
Sure. There are always multiple factors in play. However I'd still be willing to bet that there's nothing in Teslas that makes them inherently unsafe compared to other cars.

Their other models have similar results. I believe Model X is the safest SUV ever made.

Tesla on autopilot/FSD is almost 4 times less likely to be involved in a crash than a human driven Tesla which even then is half as likely to end up in a accident compared to average car. You not liking Musk fortunelately doesn't change these facts.

Those prices are about what I'd expect to pay at a restaurant here in Finland too, maybe a little more here but somehow they're able to pay a living wage to the staff from that without extra "service charge" or tips.
Man that's rough.. It's really hard to appreciate things we take for granted untill it's taken away. I really feel for the blind and people unable to walk. I couldn't imagine having to go thru that myself. It really is things that just happens to other people and not me untill it does. I hope future medicine and science has an ace up in its sleeve to help people like you.
In my case I simply don't see the need to quit. I don't see it having a negative effect on my life and I don't believe it to be particulary unhealthy either.
