  • Wasn't that Elvis' record label?

  • I'm not even on the database!!! I'm a law-abiding citizen! This is shameful.

EDIT: But my second name ...

    Is much more sinister

  • Lines of daffodils in the bush, once outlined a path to the creek from a hut long gone. Also fig trees and lemon trees where no such trees should grow.
Up at Trentham, right in the middle of the bush, there are a couple of very old cherry trees next to a hole in the ground that was once a dairy. Apparently they're quite famous for being a once popular variety that grows nowhere else in the world now, as disease took its toll of all the other trees of that variety. They've been cloned since but the clones keep dying and these old trees are still thriving. Estimated age - about 1860s or thereabouts. By the way, their cherries are truly delicious. Big, fat and black with amber insides.

  • And why shouldn't Littlehampton have its own chook shed? Just needs a bit of wire mesh, a floor and some chooks I reckon.

This is as much fun as the airport at Mt Gambier back in the 80s during the pilot strike - literally was a tin shed and a coke machine with all 3 of Mt Gambier's taxis waiting outside in the boiling sun. I believe they've upgraded it since.

  • I'm too hot & sticky to be hungry rn. Maybe a tall iced lemonade?

  • Nice little funderstorm rapidly approaching from the north.

  • My garden is loving this weather. I have put all my indoor plants outside to enjoy it too. Hope they don't drown in the promised thunderstorms though.

  • A couple of fresh croissants, a baked brie and a bunch of grapes please Chef.

  • This weather is actually pretty good for concrete work - doesn't set up so fast and is therefore stronger when cured.

  • I had to learn the hard way on the insisting front - and my brother never did. Caused a lot of stress to everyone.

  • That Pak Boy is not appreciating its current situation.

  • There are loops, but I for one would not use them for overnight storage. Agree that all that area is dodgy. The Epworth Hospital might be a better bet in that area - good cctv at least but there a lot of crazy drivers in a hurry and hunting a parking spot. And you see some really creative parking too. I'm talking about the Erin St entrance, not the Bridge Road one. Getting off Wellington Parade is a good idea - there are parking spots in East Melbourne side streets and it's a nicer area. Most of the inhabitants are not bike people so some tact in where you park your bike would be required.

  • Thanks, that's an interesting article. Have seen this in action before, but didn't know it was a potential diagnosis.

  • Isn't that PTSD, or is there a difference????? I'm asking cos I just don't know.

  • Ditto fellow tram travellers. The same faces keep cropping up on the same tram.

  • The docs gave me some advice about my Mum when her health and cognitive processes started to go haywire - don't forbid anything, don't insist on anything except her pills. Let her drive the process of coming back to life, after a major shock to her system. I suspect your Mum is having a serious self-re-assessment from old healthy person who is essentially OK, to old not-so-healthy person who needs help. This is major major shift. Takes time.

  • 5/10 - a couple of lucky guesses, but more unlucky ones. Story of my life.

  • Dunno where you'd park it. Given the proximity to the MCG, just chaining it to a fence isn't going to cut it with the council not to mention all the passers by. You might have better luck around West Richmond station. Even though the station is a pain to use with a bike due to the severe curve.
