  • Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all Men - maybe an hour's worth just for practice. And a piece of toast.

  • have definitely tried to pay for good in Kmart - with my myki.

  • Helps if you remember that in the UK 'tit' is a general term for a very small bird. Such as Bluetits etc. And mammary glands are pronounced 'tit' but spelled 'teat'. The UK really does have crazy spelling in some respects.
I got the curb/kerb one wrong.

  • 13/14 Damn difficult to work out from the questions which of the two countries to answer for - had to really concentrate. Or maybe I need a holiday to get my brain on straight.

  • Nasturtiums should do OK. Tough little bunnies if they get enough shade & moisture. The immature seed pods are edible, as are the flowers. Quite a spicy peppery taste and a succulent crunch factor that goes really nice in salads. Neither cook well.

  • You might get lucky have the birds and the bees do the work for you with a neighbour's plants.

  • Yesterday was a very drying day, even though not all that hot. Today is less windy, so won't dehydrate the plant so much.

  • A bowl of pho please.
There's a rumour going around that the Virtual Health Inspector is cracking down on virtual food trucks, so please accept a complimentary top to bottom inside and out steam cleaning of your truck. It's the least I can do to keep you on the road so to speak.

  • RIP Gertrude. Will be much missed until the next one moves in.

  • Big rain cometh. Looks like we won't miss it this time. I didn't bring a brolly to work, so its my fault. Sorry.

  • Bought ones are horrible. Gotta be homemade and with decent ingredients. Omit all citrus peel if that's what's provoking the gag reflex. The mix of fruit is OPTIONAL - can use any dried fruit to make up the volume required. I like having apricot and dried cranberries in the mix but that's just me. My sister uses more sultanas than the Ottoman Empire at its height, dried mango and paw paw, and no currants at all. Both of us use whisky rather than brandy as such. Brandy belongs in the brandy butter to be served with it in our households.

The real joy of xmas pudding is Boxing Day breakfast, with slices of pud fried in a mix of equal quantities of brandy butter and orange juice, with custard. Perfect, I say perfect, hangover cure.

  • Try drying them. Pit a trayful and put them on a lined baking tray in a very low oven - 30-50 deg - basically the defrost function if your oven has one - with the fan on. Stir them about every hour or so until they dry to snapping point. Or stop at the shrivelled but still bendy stage and freeze them in a vacuum bag. I've heard of people drying them in a microwave but I've never done that and don't know how. Dried cherries are a wonderful snack and really add something to cakes, mince pies etc. I've put them in chook stuffing too. Use them anywhere that calls for sultanas or currants or raisins.

  • Thanks Chef. I hope you are having a nice lunch too.

  • Apple & bacon salad please Chef. And a long tall glass of iced lemonade.

  • AKA "keep them paying the lazy tax" meeting. Charm will be required, but I would counsel against making any promises that your firm can't keep. Being realistic about such things is often well received by clients in my experience.

  • Meals on Wheels? Delivery? If he's a professional, then maybe the $$ aren't an issue yet.

  • Same thing happened to nurses. Used to be all on-the-job training. Now it's a uni degree.

  • Wasn't that Elvis' record label?
