I started using it right after they launched their streaming service. Back then it was awesome. No ads, nice UI, and lots of great content, so for a good price.

But that was a long time ago.

I cancelled my subscription several months ago. And I should have done it much sooner. The difference between what is was way back in the day and what it is now is jarring.

I think a lot of people keep paying for nostalgia reasons, and because of a futile hope that Netflix might somehow go back to that earlier version. In retrospect I think that was a big part of why I kept my subscription for as long as I did (which was obviously a mistake on my part).

Now, the company says it imagines an "Uber-type of setup" to fill their ranks, with gig workers logging in remotely to argue with customers from the comfort of their own homes.

So they're using their spectacular failure as a chance to exploit their new 'employees' via the gig economy.

Fuck them. They have learned nothing about respect or decency, and I hope they continue to crash and burn.

Kind of like that dirty-minded, emotionally unstable uncle many people seem to have. The one who struggles to hold down a job or a relationship because they are emotionally stunted, mildly narcissistic and prime to irrational anger fits.

These and similar people are worse than any Eldridge Eldritch horrors or demons that we are a species could ever imagine. Because they have extended their malice and cruelty and unbridled hatred into the real world, and insulated it in a convenient shell of righteous justice.

Here's a link from a December 2024 article. It mentions how the people behind Project 2025 had an online questionnaire. I remember reading somewhere that I'm addition to being an promoted on maga web sites, the questionnaire was also heavily promoted at Trump's rallies. I can't find a link on that now, but it makes perfect sense that's one of the places where they'd be advertising it and gathering names. It would be a very effective way of reaching those people.

Remember how during the election campaign he had sign-up forms for the maga loyalists who attended his rallies and were interested in working for his government?

This is the next step in that plan. The first step was having Musk and his DOGE lackeys gut the federal government of anyone who was employed in areas they didn't like, it those who might be critical of them.

Now they are moving to step 2: they are going to use subs of the freed-up wages from those lost positions to flood the federal government with their loyalist grunts. And ICE is the perfect place for most of them. These people will get to strut around in their armed forces paraphernalia, persecuting immigrants and people with darker skin than them.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of those rally sign-up forms anywhere recently. But this is all part of a wider plan.

The same courts that the government routinely ignores, and that has a sham, corrupt supreme court at it's head? Yeah, good luck with that, unfortunately.

I haven't heard this expression before. I understand that he's trying to project the whole 'alpha male' things through that phrase. But that's a fucking stupid expression. Yield signs are there for everyone's safety, including your own. Not yielding at them, either literally or figuratively, is the sign of a dunce.

Damn, I've been lucky. In my last three positions the vast majority of my coworkers (like 90+%) have been pleasant and easy to work with. And I like all the other developers I currently work with.

That's objectively poor survey design. For questions like that there should always be an 'Other' option. There should also be a 'None' or 'N/A' option.

Most of the new testament is for suckers and losers in these peoples' opinion. They are all about the vindictive, crazy shit in the old testament, and a few rare things from the new testament. like Paul's letters.

Damn, she died at just 21? That's tragic. She clearly had a ton of potential. But at least she inspired others and left a positive legacy.

They are basically more digital data versions of LifeLock. And we all know the legal issues they ran into for disingenuous products/services.
