  • I wish I had record of it.

They had reached out to me after years of no contact to catch up and we chatted back and forth for a day just telling each other what was new in our lives and how good it was to talk after so lomg. Then immediately after, they cut me off completely for the last few years of their life. I'll never know exactly why, but I suspect they just didn't want to burden me and others with all the things they were struggling with (a string of bad luck so uniquely terrible anyone that knew them would know who I was talking about if I said everything I knew about here).

A couple months before they passed, they completely dropped off the face of the earth and their Facebook was hacked. When whoever now owned the account got tipped off that I knew they were a scammer, they blocked me and I lost all of our message history.

I have never hated a complete stranger more than whoever this person is.

  • They might be ESL or have a disability that affects their ability to write. What they wrote here might be a huge improvement over what their English writing looked like a year ago.

Attack their ideas, not their language. Plenty to go after there without targeting the person behind them.

  • It's basically a requirement in the US to file a lawsuit to get anything done with regards to businesses doing shady/illegal shit. There's just too much bullshit for the agencies responsible to go after every single offender. And corporations know it.

  • I fucking hate this rhetoric.

Voting for a third party is not "taking a vote away" from anyone.

You're arguing with someone who would in all likelihood JUST NOT VOTE if not for an alternative option. If you want assurances that fascism doesn't get voted in, how about you direct that passion towards getting people to vote for someone, anyone, instead of staying at home? That is the only certain way of getting not-the-GOP-candidate elected time and time again. Republicans always come out to vote in about the same numbers every election. Just get more people voting, and not only do the Dem numbers go up, but the viability of a third party goes up astronomically as well.

    Just VOTE. For anyone!

  • If only the situation were even that "good" for Palestine. It's been an occupied territory by Isreal for years - long before last Oct. There already are "border fences" - Gaza has been under blockade by Isreal for at least 2 decades, restricting any movement of Palestinians. I recommend having a look at a map to see just how dire the situation is for Palestine when they have Isreal right in the middle and all around simultaneously.

Palestine isn't even recognized as a country by several, including - conveniently - Isreal and the US.

So, neither of those proposed alternatives would really be a good argument to Israel I'm afraid.

  • Ok, just in case anyone else had the same thought, this is not the podcaster and oldest brother of Travis and Griffin McElroy. This is just a dude that does sick commissioned art.

  • Do people try to contact coinbase for reasons other than "my 2FA doesn't work anymore and I'm locked out of my account"? My only exposure to people trying to get help for it was while I worked for a common 2fa company, but you can't really blame them if you didn't save backup codes before getting a new device...

The specific thing you spend the most time doing instead of the actual job you're being paid to do is your new profession. What's your new job title?

  • I've gotta rep one of my all time favorite party games to this day (ported to PC) Worms Armageddon. They've had several sequels, but I believe that was the last one to use that particular physics engine, and every game since has just felt a bit... Hollow?

Also +1 to Paper Mario - S-Tier RPG, best of the whole series IMHO, tho the GameCube sequel TTYD is deserving of a very close second. I wish so bad they'd make a return to badges and acquiring new buddies and buddy upgrades throughout the game. The oragami king battle mechanics did not do it for me, and with it being the core mechanic of the game just soured my whole experience despite the rest of the game being pretty solid.

  • Spot on with Perfect Dark. It's one fault imo is that it was trying to do almost too much for the 64. Even as an expansion pak game, the graphics that the 64 was capable of could just not render the necessary detail for a lot of stuff to be easy to see/recognize.
