  • I literally never watch shorts. I’ve selected the option to show less shorts on my computer, I select the not interested option on each individual video on my TV when the row of them shows up, and they still constantly come back.

  • I think a lot of people convolute introversion with social anxiety.

My social life vastly improved when I switched to working remotely. When I wasn’t, I was burning all my social energy at work and nights and weekends I’d go into hermit mode. Now I’m sitting on my social charger all day and have the energy to hang out with my friends after work/on weekends. Lots of them don’t believe I’m introverted.

A bartender friend coined the term “closet extrovert” to describe me and I don’t hate it.

  • As a naturally introverted person, working remotely has vastly improved my social life, well-being, and productivity.

I used to burn all my social energy at the office, and when nights and weekends came around, I’d go into hermit mode to recover. Work drained me. Now I’m sitting on my social charger all day while I’m working, and I actually have the energy to see my friends after work and have much better balance in my life.

I’m fortunate to work for a company that let everyone decide what works best for them when RTO mandates started going around, and they get better work from me because of it. This CEO can get fucked.

  • Isn’t this just a hero?

  • When you take a picture with your phone, you’re opening up the stock/default camera app to do so. There are alternative camera apps in the App Store/Google Play that offer different features.

  • It’s like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none.

  • I’m 38 and can’t imagine dating a 26 year old. The woman I’m currently seeing is my same age and it’s great.

  • There’s nothing more romantic than falling asleep spooning, waking up and softly whispering to your partner “my shoulder’s dislocated, get off me.”

  • Absolutely.

  • Yeah, the Firefox extension I linked works the same way. I was just thinking out loud about the other alternatives and whether that approach would be feasible, but you’re right it does have the connection requirement.

  • I always forget the Kindle has a basic web browser. In lieu of a sync service/native apps, I wonder if any of these alternatives would work decently enough in the Kindle web browser with Article Mode.

And for what it’s worth, I use this Firefox extension to send articles directly to my Kindle without Pocket/any service in the middle.

  • No, it’s a red herring.

  • Cute and a little nerve wracking since my cat is the idiot that would jump over the edge.

  • What is the charge? Eating a meal?

  • I do too, as someone who understands what it actually is, what it’s useful for, and what its limitations are. The issue is every company shoving it down users’ throats as future AGI/something LLMs will never achieve.

  • Outside of my country being on fire and being a bit worried the small company I work for will survive, my personal life has been pretty good.

I’ve been casually seeing a new woman and it’s been nice to break out of my usual comfort zone of “you are now half of my life” relationships. And it’s given me motivation to get consistent with lifting weights because I want to look good for her (and tbh love when she grabs/holds my arm), which has really helped me control my blood sugar. I might even be able to dial back my medications depending on how my next doctor’s visit goes.

First-time cuddles with the shy cat I’m watching, Lu.

I disturbed him when I got under the blanket.

I’m ready to go to bed but it’s currently illegal to move, open to suggestions.

The soft cone of shame is acceptable.
