  • I may honestly check it out. Watched some gameplay vids last night and it looked like a blast. I’m especially intrigued by friendly fire always being on, as that was such fun gameplay addition but this is entirely baked into the experience

  • I’m surprised that open source technology isn’t used at American universities. My local university only has proprietary software which I guess makes sense because of industry standards, but the reality is learning on open source will be more beneficial in the long run.

  • I’m a 4chan anon and have been for a long time. It’s a Wild West situation still due to the anon culture. A LOT OF STUFF ON THERE IS EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE AND WRONG. Oddly enough I’ve interacted with some awesome anons and that’s what keeps me going back. Highly DONT recommend anyone check the site out.

Reddit used to be fucking dope when I joined in 2012. I was a Digg enjoyer in my youth and Reddit was even better for me. Over time the culture changed, not necessarily a bad thing either just different. Helped me a lot actually become a better more inclusive human. The Admins however have made a string of terrible decisions and I can no longer support the site. They hung the redditors out to dry and I’m so thankful for Lemmy for giving us a link aggregator with a comment section sans the bullshit.

  • Hey I’m a musician/creator actually! I’m attempting to be the change I wish to see! I haven’t shared anything here because I treat Lemmy as more discussion oriented but on Mastodon I’ve shared my first Peertube upload.

I just refuse to be like those “pick me” people who are only on a platform in hopes of building their “brand”. I truly want to make friends here and if they happen to like my tunes when I occasionally share them that’s fucking dope for me. I’m seeing quite a few people like me too who are using the federation as more than the grind for fame. Overtime we will get the pick me’s, but I think we will get a lot of decent artists in it for artistry sake

  • That’s great and all, but I have discovered Peertube and I like that better. I’d rather donate to my instance than let those rat bastards siphon my data and expose me to ads. If they think I’m paying for shit they can go fuck themselves

  • That sounds delicious not gonna lie.

I avoid meat now due to its links to climate change so I’ve been on a journey food wise. Dal Makhani is just so decadent it made me so glad that I was born period. It’s a black lentil curry that is so fucking good i will devour a bowl in no time flat

  • Valid complaints. As far as the world being dead, two points. Story wise, it was supposed to be a world somewhat in ruin due to the events 100 years prior to the game. Also, again, switch being underpowered meant they couldn’t necessarily just pack the world full of npc’s and unique monsters.

I feel you on that first statement a little bit, but my biggest gripe of the Switch was they went away from the linear dungeon design of the Zelda’s from Link to the Past and forward. It’s not gods gift to gaming, nowhere close.

  • I liked the interview for one.

It was a fantastic game that was bogged down by some design choices ultimately. Story was excellent if bittersweet, and the characters were super cool.

The mmo aspects were very offputting however, and I feel like the combat needed some more depth. There isn’t much incentive to go fuckin wild with your move set like in Devil May Cry.

  • I’m a big fan of local zines from my area, so I would look around your arts/music societies to see what’s up.

https://microcosmpublishing.com/ I like this site and have used them a couple of times. Shipping sucks but they are pretty transparent about it. The owner apparently had some internet drama but I’d say they got a great selection of cool stuff

Good luck on finding your zine! It’s a cool ass subculture

  • It’s interesting to see the impact that Yamauchi had on Nintendo as a whole. Generally Nintendo games focus on gameplay, with graphics and story built towards servicing the gameplay first. Say what you want about exclusives (not a huge fan of them really) but from the ground up when you buy a Nintendo game it’s generally gonna be what you expect from the previews.

Now I hope they push for better specs in the future but that seems like a pipe dream. A game like Zelda BOTW/TOTK is completely held back by the Switch and that’s not good considering how fucking amazing it was to play them

  • I wish I would have came out of the closet immediately instead of being in two marriages that really sucked because I was confused about what I wanted and I didn’t want to ostracize myself from my family and peers.

Fuck, that felt good to get out
