  • It's timeless and perhaps an obvious one (& perhaps not so clever), but the iPod used to always sort out situations where we never had a DJ or any music available. Gotta say RIP those innovative days for Apple, nothing was cooler than being an instant DJ while working as line cook having 160 gigs of music on a device.

  • I am a big supporter of FUTO, the company respects your privacy. I think the concept of taking on nascent projects then funding and assisting in developing them, is the change that we need in open source app development right now. For those who didn't read the post by Jasep, look up Louise Rossman on YouTube Grayjay, the guy is a big inspiration.

  • I see a pattern here..

One of the primary methods Hitler employed to control the media was censorship. Upon assuming power, he established the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda.

The Ministry implemented strict censorship policies, ensuring that only content aligned with Nazi ideology was allowed to be disseminated. Any dissenting voices or information critical of the regime were met with threats of sovereign rights, property and freedom of speech suppressed, those who were found guilty were often eliminated altogether.

  • For me it's at its best when using it offline and without decent phone signal. I mostly use it off the beaten track, cycling, hiking and when needing to understand the terrain. I wouldn't use it as a substitute for Google maps or Waze though.

  • Thanks for this, yeah I also looked at the privacy policy on GitHub and it was pretty well bare bones. I haven't ever used the voice to text function nor the dictation abilities on my phone due to Google services having mostly a monopoly over crunching the data. I know that now days we are starting to see more A.I driven services, and I'd admit that I am not 100% in the know, but I'd assume that Google will be handling this part of the translation as it's reliable and free.

  • In my country Lemsip Max Cold and Flu Capsules contain a few other ingredients, I'm not sure if they are the same with yours. They say they contain a combination of paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, and caffeine. I think that the combo helps with congestion as well, and obviously if it has caffeine, so it'll give you a buzz (never in a great way in my opinion) - Basic Paracetamol works for the pain and fever part. It is commonly used to alleviate symptoms such as headache, muscle aches, sore throat, and fever.

    Hope you get better soon!

  • Fantastic! I have a question regarding the app. I understand that it can translate words and text from pictures, but I also noticed a microphone feature which I assume is for voice dictation. How does the app process voice input? Is the voice data sent to a server for translation, and if so, who is responsible for handling this data?

  • Silencing the media can be accomplished through several methods, such as censorship, self-censorship, and prior restraint by a controlling state or government. By leveraging this power, an entity can more easily manipulate the narrative and stifle dissenting voices, thereby directing the flow of propaganda. If we introduce the notion of being anti-Semitic and the fear of being perceived as racist, it becomes even easier for genocide to commence.

"The media is the most powerful institution in the world, because it has the power to shape the perceptions of the public."
