  • It would be easier if they expanded the number of representatives to be proportional to the population of the states. Pretty much every small town would have at least one representative in Congress.

It wouldn't even be as desirable as being on the local council.

  • Big hospital near me removed the only mental health floor in theicounty this year. Mental healthcare just isn't profitable. The big hospital in my county has a 6 month waiting list to see someone.

The private practice guys don't take most insurance.

  • You do know that is up to the OEM right? Just like buying a PC. Of course if you buy a laptop from Wal-Mart from some weird company it's going to come with a bunch of nonsense on it.

We're talking about pixel, googles phone. It's going to come with the standard Google products installed.

  • If you weighted things by clicks vs time viewing maybe? The true issue is lack of moderation.

Non genuine accounts boost the post for whatever reason. This creates engagement. This is good for the marketer and the platform because they make their money through advertising. They don't care if marketing firms are using thousands of zombie accounts to boost posts.

  • This is the only room with the panelling in it's natural state. The rest of it has been painted over before we bought the house.

There is also faux title paneling with a floral accent in the laundry. Textured paneling in one bathroom. And we had faux marble with gold veins in the master bath before I removed it.

  • Of course older answers are going to have more uovotes if they technically work. That doesn't mean it's the best answer. It's possible that someone would like to make a new, better, answer and is unable to because of SA restrictions on posting.

The kinds of people who post on SA regularly aren't going to be the people with the best answers.

On top of that SA gives badges for uovoting and it's possible other benefits I'm unaware of.

As we saw with reddit, uovotes systems can be inherently flawed, we have no way of knowing if that uovote is genuine.

  • The advice on stack overflow is trash because "that question has been answered already" yeah, it was answered 10 years ago on a completely different version. That answer is depreciated.

Not to mention the amount of convoluted answers that get voted to the top and then someone with two upvotes at the bottom meekly giving the answer that you actually needed.

It's like that librarian from the New York public library who determined whether or not children's books would even get published.

She gave "good night moon" a bad score and it fell out of popularity for 30 years after the author died.

  • There's a small group of the general public that goes in the dmv with a complicated niche case with no idea what they need to do.

I got stuck behind a lady at the post office who had the dmv on speakerphone while they were trying to get proof of address because she just never had her mail forwarded when she moved.

I go into the dmv they make the dmv counter people answer the phones. I had two people call in and essentially cut the line in front of me to ask basic questions that they could have looked up on the website. If it's unacceptable for people to interrupt me in person, then why do they allow it over the phone? Hate that shit.
