  • "required for safe operation" aka we're a bunch of fuds that refuse to change anything.

They could easily phase it out, but there's no political will to do so. It would cost money to find a replacement and those poor private plane operators would have to suffer the costs, boo hoo. Anyone living within 1 mile of an airport is being contaminated with lead in the air on a daily basis.

  • Ah outline for open debate, basically the Beehaw rules. If I say "I don't see oppression on a daily basis, please explain how you feel you are being oppressed." There's a non zero chance that someone will get pissed at me and tell me to leave. There are some aggressive people in minority spaces who push out others. It happens in the deaf community as well.

  • Thank you for that. The video is .mp4 1920x1080 7 minutes and 15 seconds, 1.21 GB in size! frame rate was set to "Automatic" in the stock photo app. that's quite a big video file for 1080p. maybe there is a tool for analyzing that instead?

  • I have a lawyer for the criminal case, unfortunately without evidence, there's not much to be done. If under questioning, the officer states that he did review the footage, then I can assume that he did do something. If the recording is unedited, then my phone was theoretically locked when they grabbed it since it stopped before they got there, so my phone should have been locked by then. Unfortunately, any chance to ask questions will be weeks away from now.

  • I think I’m still going to poke around and see if I can find some workaround to get it rooted without wiping. I know that there are more robust tools out there that the police and governments have that allow them to do it. They always say there’s no way to delete something, so there are ways they just aren’t widely available.

  • In a way he saved us from fascism. In the very first months of the pandemic there were several instances of police overstepping and enforcing isolation rules like it was martial law. I know it wasn't a good response, but we could have been under martial law for years instead.

  • I had a box of 3m n95 without valve at the start of the pandemic. Felt a little weird masking up before everyone else was for our pregnancy appointments at the hospital. Had to argue with my wife just to wear the damn things since a hospital was the most likely place to get infected and nobody knew how it might affect pregnant women and babies yet.

Kid was born into a pandemic and mass protesting going on. Of course by the time we went in for the birth they had increased their covid protocols and we weren't allowed to leave our little hospital room and I wasn't allowed to come back if I left. We spent 5 days in that cramped room.
