I don’t see the point for Russia to occupy parts of Ukraine that are hostile to Russia, nothing good is likely to come of that.
This I agree with. I think we're both old enough to remember the counter-terrorism in Caucasus after the second Chechen war. This would be worse.
should leave western Ukraine to become west’s problem
Well west doesn't seem to keen to actually be useful for once and accept this responsibility, not with the current leadership. Plus it opens the gates for Polish/Hungarian occupation.
So who's gonna shoulder the burden of rebuilding it all? Will it be Yankee and Brit ruling class that instigated the whole shitshow? Or is it going to be Russian taxpayers as usual? Think we already know the answer.
They will last however long NATO wants them to last. Soldiers can be replaced with foreign mercenaries. There have already been adverts with some ridiculous sums offered (see below). And nobody gives a hoot about civilians, Russian or Ukrainian or in any of the neighboring countries. And if you are wondering what will be left in its place - look at the other places where the footsteps of NATO have been felt. Libya, Syria, Somali, Afghanistan. Eternal misery is not a problem for the ruling class. It's not them being miserable after all.
The question is - how are they going to go about resolving this? The current governments may not want to even try, but the people will eventually demand action.
Got a question regarding Hakim. About a week or so ago, he's been mentioned in a post by Mango Press (who claim to be Marxists themselves and have been used for news by comrades here multiple times). Said post lambasted him as a phony and for supposedly justifying NATO propaganda, as well as hosting Konstantin Semin (a relatively famous Russian Marxist journalist).
Basically, what gives? Is this just leftist infighting and puritanism?
What are the chances those funds cannot be returned as they've been rerouted/spent already?
