  • Xmas for me was ruined because I found a guy that was robbed and dumped in the middle of nowhere during my drive.

Helping him fucked up my entire days plans and even the little festivities I wanted to take part in but bloody hell who robs someone on Xmas and then leaves them to die? Ofc I had to help.

The intense rain didn't help. I think I'm ill now.

  • Outer space excludes it tho. That's like calling "Playing indoors" outdoors

  • Wait people need more than 6 pairs???

I'm god damn shoe obsessed and I don't have that many. I got:

    -Sports shoes

    -Work shoes (thick, leather, sturdy)

    -Fancy boots (black)

    -Fancy boots (white)

The only boots I ever got purely to match was the two pairs of black and white fancy boots. Which is more than enough to be complimentary to any wardrobe depending on if I use brighter or darker colors. What more could you need? Two pairs of sports shoes? Two pairs of work shoes if you wanna be extra? But even that only brings you up to 6 and I can't fathom needing more.

Like I consider myself a shoe obsessed woman. I pride myself in my silly little stompers yet I can't imagine owning more then 6 at a time. Unless you count during my lifetime because yeah boots got replaced as old ones wore out. I needed to replace the white ones as they literally fell apart, went through several rounds of work and sports shoes too.

  • Hope it comes with story improvements. The best remakes manage to acknowledge future continuity that wasn't planned yet

  • It's called an event space and it can't be occupied all year. There's stuff going on pretty frequently but when it ain't, it's gonna have to be a skatepark + parking lot.

It ain't just Christmas. There's holiday markets for every season and even off holiday there is frequent flea markets. It's even where popular bands will hold their concerts. Without a dedicated space like that, it's impossible to set up these kind of markets and fairs. It's inevitable that some days it'll sit empty.

You try setting up a ferris wheel and rollercoaster in the cramped areas of the city. It won't work.

  • Fun fact from Germany! These giant Christmas markets actually double as parking lots outside of holiday seasons! Everything is temporarily built on top of a giant parking lot!

Furthermore these tend to be close to both major hubs (Think like a central train station!) and some other event areas that DO need the parking (like a football stadium!). That way, while the holiday markets (plural, several a year) are off, the space can also be used as parking space for sports events hosted in the adjacent stadium!

Just some amazing German efficiency for you. Oh also they frequently get used as skateparks.

  • It's also because Mastodon has a different structure. While Lemmy tries to mimic Reddits structure with individual communities, Mastodon follows Twitters structure as a larger hub more.

Mastodon, being less "subdivided" therefore can afford federation with such an entity with less risk. Their collective mass being able to offset threads weight more, in comparison to Lemmy where each community has to compete individually with Threads.
