  • I hope a true resistance is born of this. We need to band together and rise up!

  • AP News article about it. Once they arrive and start violently shutting down the peaceful protests, it will be everywhere online.

  • I cry so often when I watch movies. It sometimes feels pathetic 😅

  • That had to be absolutely terrifying, which I’m sure was the goal. There is not one IOF soldier that is innocent. They need to be put down, the lot of them. I long for a day where there is a long wait at the gallows for each and every one of them. Hanging them would be too kind.

    Fuck Israel.

    Sincerely,

    A now non-practicing Jew.

  • Where do you think I’m from? I’m definitely from a country very close to what you have guessed!

Kidding aside, I’m from Michigan in the US. These Uber trips were from the town I was born in. I have no idea why I pronounce certain words the way I do. It certainly is not the way anyone else I’ve known speaks. Pretty odd, right?

  • Consider his work, other than Tenacious D. His roles in movies, random guest star appearances at concerts and such. He’s crafted this lovable teddy bear image. That’s what I’m referring to. Yes, he and Kyle have cultivated a fan base for Tenacious D that is anything but wholesome. But there is more to his image than just that. Most people that only know of him from his performances in movies see him as a family friendly silly guy. That has become his bread and butter.

Again, I don’t agree with his response to Kyle’s birthday wish, but I can understand why he would be on the defensive for it.

  • Very true! But bigger picture, this gets reported on and causes harm to his “family friendly” schtick. I don’t agree with it, but I understand it.

  • Just read up on the trump comment. I understand Jack has this family friendly persona that he likes to keep. I don’t agree with cancelling the tour and putting creative plans on hold. But I can understand why he’d be instantly on damage control.

I share the same sentiment as Kyle. I really was saddened that the guy missed.

  • Difficult to say. I feel like I’ve always leaned left, but without my exposure to leftist discussion online, I may not be as far left as I am today. I’d like to think that I would have ended up with the same political beliefs that I currently have.

I certainly would not have come out as trans until it became a very public thing. In the past I had always thought that I had some sort of fetish with dressing up in women’s clothing. It wasn’t until I was exposed to what being trans was, online, that I finally connected all of the dots. I’d still have come out as trans eventually, but it would have taken longer. I’m grateful for the trans spaces I discovered online, and the community I found within. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • It’s just a warning from the CO detector lobby. This is your brain on CO.

  • It really highlights for me, the lack of empathy of the insurance companies, and the general public at large. They want people like me to be functioning members of society, but don’t care enough to offer proper resources for us. My mania results in destructive impulsivity, in combination with extreme emotional/mood swings that make maintaining relationships exhausting for those around me. The meds help keep me evened out enough to function. People don’t understand the plight of those with mental disorders (and mine is nothing compared to those who have it much worse), so they respond with apathy most of the time.

  • I’d ask them if they have a CO detector at home.

  • My son and I just wait for marvel movies to be released on Disney+ these days. Why go to the movies, spend $50 after two Extreme 2D tickets, popcorn and drinks if I can wait for it to be released on a service that is included in the cost of my cellphone plan? Not to mention the ability to watch it comfortably at home, over dinner, with the ability to pause it if either of us needs to use the bathroom. We used to go to the movies often, pre-COVID. Now we just wait a bit for it to show up on torrent sites, or a streaming service we subscribe to.

  • Only upvotes! I’m sure it has nothing to do with the instance I am on having downvotes disabled lol

  • Our first computer was a Macintosh, not sure of what model, as I was pretty young. I played many hours of StuntCopter on it!

  • I loved my Eee PC 900. It had such slim bezels for the time it was released in, super lightweight, multitouch trackpad, and an n-lite version of XP. I used MediaMonkey to manage my iPhone at the time too. Good times!

  • When I was an Uber driver, like 10ish years ago, people would ask if I was from the US (I live in the US) often. Apparently the way I pronounce some things can come across as having an accent, which I don’t see. I think the only thing I pronounce differently is dollar; doh-llar. Why? I have no idea. At first I’d be like “nope, born and raised in this city”, but after a while I would lean into it, for fun. I’d ask “where do you think I’m from?”, and then respond with a country that is adjacent to their guess. It was always Eastern European, which I do have some distant lineage, but far far removed. I would then follow it up with the “just kidding, born and raised here” and we’d all have a good laugh. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • Chiropractic was literally invented by a man who didn’t feel like he needed to go to medical school. It is not based in science. This is not some new misinformation campaign. It has been well known, since the inception of it. Do some research on it if you don’t believe me. It’s quackery. It’s nice that it seems to have helped you. But again, not science.
