They are sycophants. They do not have any actual convictions, those are dictated to them by Trump. The most fervent supporters have already fallen in line, with the rest to follow shortly.

I’m with in you in spirit, but then I’d have to live with consequential stink of my own actions.

So around Friday of last week, my ground level apartment started to have a weird, foul, smell. It got worse and worse, until Monday morning, when my toilet stopped flushing and the drains took forever to clear.

By then the smell was horrid, like a mixture of skunk, piss, and decay. Thankfully for me, my toilet suddenly started working for a couple of hours Monday night, but then stopped working by Tuesday morning. Around 3pm on Tuesday, they finished repairing the sewage pipe, but the smell lingers on.

This also happened maybe 6-8 months ago, and it took 7-10 days for the smell to finally dissipate. I expect it will take that long this time as well.

Judging by the notice left on all of our doors, that threatened to charge the person or persons responsible for flushing “flushable” wipes and cigarette butts (???) as well as dumping oil down the drain, our sewage pipe must have been completely blocked up. Without inspecting each unit, I doubt they will be able to assign blame, so whoever did it will likely get away with it.

I have nothing to worry about, as I never pour oil down the drain, I don’t smoke cigarettes, and I only ever use toilet paper in the bathroom. Whoever invented “flushable” wipes deserve a punch in the fucking face. Now my apartment smells absolutely terrible, and likely will continue to do so for a week or so.

For the love of god, do not dump oil down the drain! It’s so easy to pour it into a jar, then use a paper towel to wipe the rest of the oil out of the pot/pan. It makes actually cleaning the cookware that much easier as well.

In the case of capital punishment, I don’t think the intent is for them to actually use the death penalty on us, but to use it as a scare tactic to push us closer to full erasure from public life. To say “look what we could possibly do to you” sort of thing.

I’m not disagreeing, just pointing out that it is likely not as big of an issue as people make it.

Interesting! I did not realize they use bit.ly and such. That would make the solution even more difficult, as Apple and Google would then need to make some sort of deal with every major URL shortening service to somehow be able find out what the URL links to, and then check it against a blocklist. That would require quite a bit of cooperation, to the point of being a non-starter I’d think. Why use a short URL service for a QR code?

That seems quite difficult to combat. Especially if there is a 0 day exploit based in the web browser for iOS or Android devices that attackers could use for their nefarious purposes.

Not sure about Android, but on iOS, when one scans a QR code it shows the web address on the screen that the user then taps on. For the average user, I doubt that they are going to question what the URL is before following through to the website.

Perhaps Apple and Google could implement a sort of verification that a link is suspect or not, and prompt the user to either proceed or not. Anti-phishing blocklists are a thing, so it would seem that it wouldn’t be too difficult. Though that would not stop domains that have not been added to the blocklists from passing the verification attempts.

A quick search suggests that a 2 minute charge will provide a few hours of use, while it takes about 2 hours to charge it fully. Whether that is acceptable or not is up to the user, of course. But to me that seems pretty reasonable. Though none of this really matters for me, as I don’t use mice.

Is there really a market for people who want the thinnest phone possible? I thought the days of the RAZR V3 and SLVR were of the past?

I recognize the community I’m in rn. Just curious about how long it actually takes. I doubt it takes very long, or happens very often.

In a similar vein was the location of the charging port on the Apple mouse. Sure it seems asinine, but you only charge it like once a month, so it really isn’t an actual issue. It was just an excuse to hate on Apple products.

Think of it less as how this specific law will be used to target LGBTQ+ people directly, but as a stepping stone to push for more laws that expand the reach of it to eventually include LGBTQ+ people.

Some may argue that this is quite the leap, but there have been 598 pieces of legislation that have been proposed in 2025 alone, with (luckily) only 66 that have passed, that target LGBTQ+ people.

I am leery when it comes to “protect the children” legislation these days. There always seems to be an ulterior motive behind them.

Perhaps I should clarify “intended effect” as it being a thin veil. They can claim they are doing this to protect children from all predators, while simultaneously repeating the groomers line over and over again.

In my opinion, it seems a little too coincidental that they pass this law in a state that has a very hostile anti-LGBTQ+ stance, while also attempting to portray us as child predators.

It’s possible that I am drawing conclusions incorrectly, but I sincerely doubt it.

Keep in mind that these are the small steps they are taking to get to the point where we are afraid to be seen in public.

At first it’s protect children from learning about LGBTQ+ culture by banning education, removing books (they don’t need to burn the books, they just remove ‘em). All in the name of stopping the spread of a radical agenda. Bear in mind we make up around 1-2% of the population in the US.

Then it is banning healthcare for minors, which consists of support, social transition and possibly puberty blockers. This is to protect the children from being “surgically mutilated”. Never mind the fact that children do not receive trans surgical interventions.

Next comes capital punishment for sex crimes against children. For now, it is reserved for physical sexual assaults.

The latest attempt against trans people was banning all trans healthcare for those on Medicaid. Trans patients account for approximately 0.4% of those on Medicaid. Around 276,000 trans people (as of 2022) out of 71,258,215 total people on Medicaid.

It is not much of a stretch to assume that they will continue to attempt to backdoor their way to banning trans health care for all trans Americans.

What’s after that? Classify presenting a trans, but obfuscated as “drag performances”, in any public setting. The public support of these laws has been from the messaging, by successfully equating drag performances with being based upon indecency. This is limited to 2 states at the moment, but the fact that it is illegal anywhere in the country is deeply disturbing.

In my opinion, they will continue to push further and further to make us fear being clocked (caught) in public, by legislating us into criminality. This may seem like a leap, but overall support for trans people has declined in recent years. While the major drops in support revolve around trans athletes and healthcare for minors, these issues are overblown and are used to erode public opinion of us.

TL;DR: The overall outlook for us right now is not good. I don’t expect ya to follow each link, I just wanted to back up my claims with reliable sources.
