@skybreaker It's why I'm trying to encourage people who enjoy smaller communities like that sort of community to try and grow them, try and be the change you want such as more posts, comments as well as useful content about things, you never know if someone might be trying to find the information and then find it on the community.
@Aurix Yeah I get that sort of stuff with ObsidianMD (A great Note taking tool) sometimes I have so many questions but not the community is very small on here compared to Reddit.
Hopefully this changes in the future, especially if Reddit is pulling away from Google and Bing Search.
@adamb Yeah sometimes it's because they don't know about the other one or it's because the other one might have different rules and stuff but tbh it's just like finding 2 subs of the same topic on Reddit with slightly different names. Hopefully people come together a bit more but it's still an option if someone just tries to control a community.
@June It's one of the reasons I use Kbin/Mbin is because I can follow people who are on Mastodon and still get there content on the Microblog area as well as see the the Lemmy stuff through Threads (the tab not the application).
@PeterPoopshit Don't worry I have parents that have experienced drugs and alcohol to the fullest so I stay away from them. The problem is that gaming for me is destructive especially for the possible future I could have with a career, worst case I hope I fall back into Video Games and just mindlessly play them, best case I actually do something with my life and make a difference at least from what I feel like I've done.
@BradleyUffner It's one of the downsides I've seen, it seems like some people choose to post the same thing on 3+ communities of the same topic and it really just gets annoying sometimes.
@AgentGrimstone You get people advertising there own things but that is almost understandable and you can just block the person if that's all they talk about.
@Nikki Yeah I know I'm in a lot of Trans subs and they seem to be pretty dead sadly, maybe I need to post a little more on them and see if others want to do the same and start something going but really unless there's something helpful for someone else it won't really get used long term. I hope this changes in the future.
@danielton I would suggest people to go to something like toot.lgbt or another one that puts the LGBTQIA+ community in the front. Obviously LGBT arts are stuck between going for Art or LGBT at that point but the hope will be once they realise mastodon.art isn't good for LGBT people they will move to another instance.
@DirkMcCallahan It will most likely change over time especially with more and more content over time being added especially useful content that people can use for things.
@henfredemars Lol, guess it would be, but I guess some people may comment but not post.
