Unlikely. These implants require far less in terms of outside-the-body tech.
Also those people were blind, which is a whole other issue because you need external feedback processing.
Its novelty is that it doesn’t require open brain surgery. Instead, it’s implanted through a slit at the base of the neck and threaded up through the jugular vein into the motor cortex—the part of the brain that directs movement. The device is powered by a small battery pack placed under the skin of the chest. Synchron has implanted 10 patients, including six in a US feasibility trial supported by the Brain Initiative.
There was this PC FMV game back in the early 90’s where there’s this woman doing all kinds of things that gets herself killed and all you do is flip the right switches at the right time and enter 3 digit codes.
Oh my god I loved this as a kid, and had a shitload of the toys, and from my late teens on I've been trying like hell to figure out what this show/line of toys was!!!
Thank you for posting this today. Gonna show my kids. This is so wild.
It's so fucking stupid man. Like, even assuming you hate communism, would the best way to beat communism not be to heavily trade with it and just McDonalds the communism away? Like if capitalism is superior it will just spread around and win.
I don't perceive us as having similar end desires, no, but the idea I'd rather side with people further from my views than closer is absurd, and born of the jealousy - you're angry that the norm is the norm and not your views. My support of Biden is proof of that - he's too protectionist, but Trump is far more protectionist, as an easy policy example.
If you want your ideas to be popular, consider trying to spread them positively.
