  • "assassination" is the crime against humanity, although pretty sure it's "only just" a war crime. Although when not carried out by a govt agent, since we're talking a hypothetical libertarian society and solution, IDK if 8t can be called that.

  • Govt research grants are not videos literally being published by the govt. They aren't particularly comparable siuations. It's why I can't just buy a stock of Disney and suddenly have free access to their IP. Meanwhile I can rehost whole programs put out by NASA with zero issue.

I get the anger and it's justified, but man is it misdirected here.

  • Straight up overreaction to someone saying that the post was right, because it is.

It's self-referential meaning the western world is complicit in ALL the death there, both sides, because the Western allies of Israel have never forced them to the table to hammer out an actual solution.

  • Even worse than that really. She's a principal who should've been fired, but instead they swapped her and the counselor from her school with the one in this one. Yes, drag the overperforming school down instead of outright replacing the staff of the underperforming one. brilliant move.

He asked her on day one where the old counselor was and she took that as an insult (because she knows she's shit) instead of a genuine question like an 11yo would have because what fuckin 11yo, no matter how gifted, is tracking the staff moves of their school district?!

  • I'm of the opposite opinion. General use of highly specific terms just make y'all look like twats to less-involved people. Then there's the fact that highly specific names often get treated like an attack on BOTH groups by people with crap critical thinking skills.

Remember that KISS still applies to political discussion and is a good rule. Even idiots and the poorly educated are entitled to a vote so it's better to keep things closer to the common denominator.

  • This didn't help me, I understand advertising. My questioning sponsorblock apparently didn't properly convey that a huge part of my confusion is that you can just... Skip that part. It's not like rolled ads and even then I already mentioned support for adblocker.

Like it's overkill, obsessive type feel to me "I hate advertising so much I want everything to be automatic so I don't even process for a 10th of a second that I may have consumed an ad" while most people are like "Oh it's the sponsor" click click and move on. And hey maybe I see a it's a product I DO use like Displate, so the discount code is useful.

  • The embargo is old-school US punishment. It fucks over their ability to do business in the US, which means no banking, data centers, and much more. This is incredibly inconvenient for Cuba but hasn't meant as much as other LA countries have developed.

This is, of course, initially in response to the Cuban govt nationalizing the primarily US-owned oil industry.

  • It just seems like overkill to me tbh. The content creators I watch need sponsors to get by, so I'll take a peek at what they're offering in good faith. If I don't like it I just skip to the end of the bit, or leave the video since a few put them at the end. You're not messing with corporate profits or anything.

  • So my question with heat pumps is more how much does humidity effect the efficiency? Where I live is high elevation, has cold winters, but the air is dry as fuck. Single digit humidity for a month wouldn't be unusual.

My understanding is that heat pumps work best with humidity since moving moisture is part of how the heat is produced. When does a reasonably priced heat pump start falling off in efficiency?
