Gotta admit, it's interesting how I specifically mentioned politicians and media networks and you responded by alluding to a vague "government" entity that seemingly acts on its own.

In my mind, the government is just a name for the politicians people elected. It's like saying corporations seek profit like they have feelings and desires or something, and not like they're falling explicit laws and instructions set forth by politicians, which again are human beings that we've specifically elected.

If politicians/corporate media came out and said, it's unfortunate but there's too much money, power, assets on the line, we have to let Israel' genocide continue and we have to continue to support them for X, Y, and Z reason I'd actually feel respected.

My understanding is that those groups have regularly dismissed any evidence that the genocide is happening, they've claimed protests by student and university faculty are stupid and due to them being brainwashed, and most-improtantly they've claimed anyone that doesn't support Israel hates Jews.

Can you please respond with a slightly better understanding of my comment? Please ask if something's not clear.

It's fascinating how people are so eager to sweep it all under the rug Americans themselves are ignored just to protect Israel, and more importantly, to protect American politicians that refuse to even learn about the situation. That's not even mentioning the absolute infuriating trash that passes as corporate news nowadays (including anything pushed to the masses by large social media publishers). It's like in order to protect Israel... err I mean, stop caring about this issue because it makes us uncomfortable, we're entirely willing to allow news organizations to be straight-up propaganda, feeding blatant misinformation. It's weird how we have zero criticism for them because that might invite someone to mention Gaza

I'm American. Of course I'm racist. It's kind of something you have to try not to be around here. I'm not really trying to offend you. I'm just a brown American with my own thoughts and opinions on white Americans.

Here's a question for you, because I appreciate that you're responding. Would you consider an enslaved African woman living in the US in the early 1800s racist for having negative views of white Americans? What about a Chinese man that just spent tons of money to move to the US in the late 1800s but is denied equal rights and is exploited due to his race, would he be racist for his views of white Americans? Would you say Black Americans living in the early 1900s were racist (during peak KKK membership/terrorism)?

When was it, if not OK, at least understandable for nonwhites to be "racist" and when did it become unacceptable/stop making sense?

Finally, no, it's not racist to talk about race. It's actually completely fine. It's only taboo in certain circles, like sex and politics. Acknowledging our racial background and how it makes us who we are is an important part of understanding and accepting ourselves. I'm with you 1000% on pretty much everything except your last paragraph. But, let's slow down.

This started with someone saying, 'choosing who to vote for shouldn't be a difficult decision.' You replied saying, 'actually Dems/the DNC sucks.' Can you see how in the context of that conversation, it might seem like you're trying to respond and even refute what the previous commenter said (i.e. it actually should, or could, legitimately be a difficult decision)? Cmiiw, but I think you were just trying to hijack/insert your point into the conversation and that's totally fine! But you need to have work it in somehow or else you're just being disrespectful of them and ultimately others in the forum. Gotta have a bit of rizz, you know. Even saying something like, 'I totally agree, but tbf Biden sucks and...' or 'while I dont disagree...' would help.

The DNC is probably worse than the RNC because of it, at least the Republicans are clear about their shitty intentions and rally behind that. Instead, the Dems attack and undermine each other as if the Republicans and their fascist threat didn't exist.

Now, to address this. You say this like Rs/the RNC is honest to their voters. Trump is literally lying to them in nearly every sentence he makes. You really need to take a step back and try to see the nuance (literally always in everything).

Middle America has absolutely been shafted by both parties for decades while investments in infrastructure and whatnot have obviously been focused on cities. This makes sense, they literally don't like cities. Still, they're struggling and we, as a nation, have abandoned them. This video honestly breaks my heart. It shows how each president has made promises they either knew or should've known they couldn't keep.

Where does that leave us? Well, you might say no one really has a choice because both parties suck. I'd say, well, before the tea party, Republicans weren't so crazy. They legit took over the party that most aligned with theirs. Can you say we've done the same? If I'm honest, I won't even register as a Dem because I'm kinda with you. But surely we see how that's a bit of a problem if we want to force the DNC to take us seriously and to ultimately bend to our will.

Alright this got too long. Basically, there's lots of unhappy Americans being lied to. And some are dumber than others. One party is clearly lying more and unfortunately it's paying off bigly.

Unfortunately, I wiped my computer Thursday night before our company mentioned anything. lol. I ended up finding out about the issue on Lemmy/Reddit. My company didn't send anything out until this morning - which I still find insane, my laptop crashed and started looping around 7p (took them like 12 hours).

My laptop just rebooted while I was working so I assumed some program I'd installed caused it (explorerpatcher). I tried everything, safe mode, system restore, uninstall updates. I figured the only option left was to reinstall windows. Done it plenty of times on my personal PC

Oh well, lesson learned. Shit's totally fucked now. It won't even connect to the Internet. lol. Definitely a Monday problem though
