Good. Food shouldn't be grown for profit at all and shouldn't be exported. Time to nationalize all the agrobusinesses who "can't survive" without paying slave wages to export millions of gallons of subsidized water to foreign countries for pennies.
AWS is unavoidable, other clouds are barely a blip for now. But even if the other clouds surpassed AWS, it's not like that's an improvement. Google Cloud? Oracle Cloud? Microsoft Cloud? Are you really going to bat for them just because Amazon = Bezos?
This is good thing for the dozen or so people benefiting from our unlimited funding to defense contractors and of course a bad thing for literally everyone else.
In a better world, yes. In this world, capitalism won the fight for well-designed cities so now we are in a bind where people that shouldn't drive "have" to be able to, and a driver's license is just a suggestion. Cheap cars are abundant and easily available so unless a person is in jail, they can't practically be prevented from driving.
You don’t have to land on one thing and make it your personality for the rest of your life. It’s okay to grow as a person especially if you’re an adult.
Agreed, so why are you still worrying about Harry Potter (somehow) harming people? It's time to move on from that 90's rhetoric.
Why? He's been back stabbing and sidelining since he got to be a victim and his pro-cop cause sucks a lot. If Bloomberg paid his PAC a few million to endorse the political equivalent of Pelosi, you bet your ass he'll do that.
Thank you, Lemmy is looking like a slippery slope back into Reddit today with everyone just screaming at the headlines without knowing the full stories or context.
Have you read the article? You should it pretty short, and the Headline absolutely gets it right.
What she’s saying is to use the word “kings” instead of “oligarchy”. Which I get. Sure - do that. Makes sense. Same argument, same vitriol, more punch.
Still don't agree with that. Oligarchy is a very specific thing that we are currently living in. We don't have a king, not even by the most new-speak of definitions.
Detailing her plan, Slotkin – a former analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA)
Also hard pass. The CIA should be shuttered they will never be able to provide solution to the problems of capitalism, because their number one goal is to secure "US Interests Abroad" meaning, prop up the oligarchy.
Partitioning is one of those obsolete Unixisms that is best left in the 90s. Only exception is dual booting, but even there partitioning isn't really very important anymore
Dams are extremely ecologically disruptive and generally shouldn't be considered part of "green" infrastructure. Not that small scale dams don't have a place in good environmental stewardship, but a good way to tell if someone advocating for "green energy" is full of shit, is their position on hydro-power. That said even ignoring the downstream international impact of this dam, the consequences of "the largest dam" in the world cannot be ignored if you want to pretend to care about the climate, which includes river ecology.
Sure, but they are radiation sources and beyond microwaves, "nuclear" material exists in several consumer products, so that isn't really a reason we haven't had consumer nuclear batteries.
Stock prices are a reactionary and misleading indicator about the efficacy of any given policy, and should certainly be ignored when evaluating the actual effect a tariff has.
