  • I think the more severe issue here is that an architecture change would make the new device incompatible with the Switch. So they should preferably stay with something arm-based that can ideally mimic the original SOC closely.

  • To support your theory: Wild cats don't meow when they're grown up. They usually only do this as kittens. When they grow up around humans they keep this trait to communicate with humans. So yeah, we're like moms or something to them.

  • It's not. The founder is russian and created vKontakte but basically had it taken away from him by Putin. He's outspoken against the regime and just because he's born in Russia shouldn't mean he should be seen as part of that crappy government.

  • Yeah but the two-party system is a US thing which is ranking relatively poorly when it comes to democracies and is classified as a flawed democracy according to the Economist Democracy Index.

Your post makes it sound like increasing taxes for the rich will never lead to better circumstances for poor people but it absolutely does.

  • The difference is that feudalism wasn‘t a democracy. In a democracy you can change what your tax income is spent on and you can decide whether or not you want it to go to welfare programs or whatever else. The money is not in the hands of government workers. Your taxes don’t go to the bank account of the head of state.

This is a bit oversimplified since there can of course be corruption inside of the government but in a functioning democracy, you are in a different position than what you describe here.

  • Can someone give me an example where webp gets in the way? I've been using it for a while and both macOS and Windows seem to support the format without any third party extensions for a while now and so do the Affinity apps.

I can use webp like any other image format at this point.

  • I'm not dyslexic, so I'm just going off assumptions here. Dyslexic fonts often have bold parts that make them easy to tell apart at a glance. So something that's very homogenous with a bunch of straight vertical lines that create a very even look might perform particularly poor with people with dyslexia. So some kind of geometric sans-serif font.
