  • Neofetch is unmaintained btw, fastfetch is a good replacement... for whoever needs that. I wrote my own tool for getting system info and I like my terminals to have free space

    List of fetch tools

    Cool alternatives:

  • I find it easy to use and use both, Noscript for Javascript (all opt-in), UBlock for adblock (badness enumeration) and "cookie autodelete" (on mobile, for opt-in keeping cookies and deleting the rest)

  • There are no viruses on Flathub. That is the Snap store. Those are two entirely different things.

  • Thanks, remembered that too. Displaylink sucks, so I guess no.

  • sudoedit is more secure btw. Many editors are not built to be ran as root, and this copies the file to a temo directory, edits it without root, and then overwrites the original file on save with root.

  • Oh wow, now Google can scan my photos there too!

  • Read my comment again :/ I didnt talk about shelter. No idea what this is supposed to be, but its a big deviation of how Android works, so avoid it. Stuff like that needs to be supported by the underlying OS.

And please rename the post to add "Android Go"

  • You should report this to your distro, run journalctl -f on startup and for sure give the output of kinfo to give a usable bug report.

  • Nixos.

    Jump
  • I would post it there, this will likely get removed in a few hours :D

  • If your core OS doesnt have this ability I would not think anything substantial can replace that. You might want to create a separate user account under settings, if this is possible on Android Go.

But tbh these devices are likely underpowered garbage, I would get a used Google Pixel, put GrapheneOS on it and call it a day.

  • In Flatpak no, just the bundle for whatever reason. Pretty annoying, as I will never, never use Base of Draw.

  • OpenOffice is not a thing anymore, stop keeping it in your brains XD

  • Dont agree on looks etc, but yes Onlyoffice feels like that and I would prefer Libreoffice+Web integration too.

  • And not the good aspects of Reddit either

    Explain

  • Yes the buttons and the "long press power button on display off for flashlight" both small but soo useful things

  • I wanted to package an ambisonic VST3 plugin as a Flatpak, really need to learn that as this would make things really easy.

But I have no idea of audio production, find it really cool but its a complex topic.

  • Have you tried Ardour, Bitwig, Reaper or Zrythm? Studio 1 also has a Wayland-native version now, which is paid.

But I get the tinkering part, poorly.

  • What proprierary Javascript is needed for core functionality? πŸ˜
