  • I just ask for recommendation and then been going off the comments like on lemmy. So I've been watching old stuff mostly rather than searching out seasonals, since there's of completed series I haven't seen yet.

  • When a visitor tries to download an app from a fake site, they are redirected to the MEGA file hosting service webpage, which offers them a zip file, containing a trojan installer package, for download.

Another reason to use adblockers. Does ads that are part of search engine results can be dangerous.

  • I don't feel like testing it out on my own device, since haven't had one that hasn't gotten burn in yet. Especially with how expensive phones have gotten that I'll be using it beyond the usual two year upgrade path.

  • You see it to some extent on regular sites when browsing on mobile. Like if you go to Crunchyroll on safari or brave on iOS and try to stream a video it refuses to and tells you to download the Crunchyroll app. It is capable of streaming it though, since I can do so in Safari on Android.

So imagine that but more ubiquitous which locking out specific devices or refusing to let you login in a bank account by saying please download chrome or edge to access due to requiring DRM.

  • Crazy how Chrome took off so much over default browsers like Safari and Edge. Is it because it is also taking into account Chrome on Android and Chromebooks that come as default? Or are that many normal people going out of their way to install chrome.

  • I think Better Call Saul started off better than Breaking Bad, since the change to the more law focused conflict felt so refreshing over cartels. I think two season were absolute peak. I loved the law office drama.

But, later seasons started leaning more heavy on the cartels and trying to add suspense to what we knew already happened didn't hit the same way as the early seasons. Wasn't the biggest fan of the ending either with it feeling like it kind of dropped the morally gray aspect of certain characters, and kind of entered cheesy territory.

  • Because people can have their own community, just like on reddit?

Never was questioning that. Was more a comment on the small size of the userbase, and how it's led to some created communities that ended up dead fast as some communities haven't had the numbers to sustain activity. By all means there's nothing preventing people from doing what they want.

Just a observation pondering about what can be done to help activity of created communities taking into consideration the decentralized nature of the fediverse.

  • Yeah, at this point feel like it'd be more helpful for some communities to exist bu restrict posts and redirect people to instances that have an established community so serving as a guide on where to go.

Much like how back on reddit there'd be subs that only served that purpose of redirecting users to the main community despite having millions of active users.
