  • Makes me want to try the wireless Sennheiser. I never stuck with the gaming wireless headsets I had gotten because I was not satisfied with the sound quality. I got the 599 I've been using, so I do like their headphones.

  • One of the things I found annoying on reddit was when people would cry about getting downvote instead of making a comment without worrying about whether they got downvoted or not.

Making edits crying about getting downvoted or first saying I'll probably be downvoted for this but... I really disliked those.

But, I will agree that it is preferable to leave a message explaining why someone disagrees rather than just downvoting. Whining about it is just as annoying though. If my instance let me downvote I'd downvote those comments even if I agreed.

  • Most people don't care about what client others are using. It's more the evangelizing of what how $20 isn't that big a deal that is starting to get annoying. If it was just Sync came out and people who liked it used it then it'd be fine, but then some of you guys are bit too fanatical that you'd go into other communities like liftoff to start arguing about Sync and how $20 is worth paying and the app deserves it and so on, and then trashing the Foss alternatives. Yes we get it you love Sync and is the best app ever, but try and tone it down a bit. It's more the userbase that is hurting the image right now than anything.

  • I thought it was due to wanting to try a non corporate alternative to social media. Before Spez mishandling of the incident I was ready to just use old.reddit.com on Firefox and figure out how to get RES onto mobile, or just use it less and more on desktop only. Had he just quietly let the protest pass by without throwing a tantrum I'd probably still be using reddit.

  • $20 starts putting it in the category of productivity apps like Lumafusion which is $20 on sale which is a pretty solid video editor on iOS. Or Procreate at $13 for a really good drawing app iPadOS. So when looking at Android it is definitely an outlier in price for a social media app. And those apps mentioned are one time purchases and straight up paid apps, so there's no ad integration built into the app that needs to be disabled to begin with which makes it feel premium from the get go.

Most expensive app I spent money on was SeriesGuide X Unlock key which is $24.99 to I think get notifications. SeriesGuide as a base though has no ads and is open source, and feature rich even without the Unlock key. So that I felt better about supporting, since it wasn't to remove ads and I liked their approach better.

  • It is surprisingly good at finding generic drivers. First time I actually had to get drivers manually for a printer in years was MacOS Ventura. And then for an old PC I had to get some custom drivers that worked on newer kernel for an old Nvidia card due to the generic one causing freezing.

  • I haven't caught up with the most recent season, but I really liked all adventures the crew went on. One thing I did remember wishing was for the show to drop the Ed and Kelly relationship subplot, since I liked the more friends and professional dynamic. And I miss Alara too, and wish she'd be part of the crew again.

  • Another thing I'd like to see is when viewing an instance as a guest to be able to switch which instance you are viewing it from so you can subscribe to a community you came across. It's something liftoff lets you do, and it's helped make the different instances and navigating them feel more seamless.

  • Yet you expect random people to know even more when you believe that? Go ask experts like your doctor or search out a university professor if you are that skeptical. Or are they untrustworthy too except for these random users on the internet who you know absolutely nothing about when it comes to their qualifications other than a background in social media usage.
